Well both Microsoft and Sony have spanked Activision and Harmonix over the compatibility issues. If its crappy, just get the Guitar Hero World Tour gear and the Rock Band 2 game.
Don't worry, Microsoft just announced they are doing this too.
"For the record, we also do that, so consider this an official announcement. All the instruments from Rock Band 2, Guitar Hero: World Tour, and Rock Revolution will be cross-compatible."
I dont think so, the PS3 was too ambitious to gain a "1st place". Before anyone accuses me of being a Microsoft of Nintendo fanboy, full disclosure: I have no allies, own all 3 consoles and I was a Sega fanboy back in the day.
First of all, more powerful console doesn't automatically mean the games will always look better. Most multiplatform titles actually look better on the 360 than the PS3. This is due to the 360 is cheaper to develop on, developers usually make the game on the 360 and port it over, not to mention not all titles on the PS3 (infact very few 3rd party titles) display in 1080p in the first place. Despite what most people think the 360 and PS3 do have limits and a lower res (usually 768i) will enable the game to run smoothly without hits on performance. When it comes down to that, what you have left is upscalers, which the 360 does a very nice job of.
Secondly is price. Sony cant compete on price, the machine is still to expensive. If they want a shot at winning this generation they need to cut price and the need to cut it NOW! There are many hardcore gamers that still cant justify the price and you have to be crazy to think if a casual will spend that much on something they wont use all that much.
. As I live in Australia let me show you the prices here for consoles: Wii = $388 360 Arcade $350 360 Pro = $500 PS3 = $700
Yes, in Australia the PS3 is double the price of the 360 arcade (and yes, here alot of people will settle for an Arcade and a 2nd hand 20Gb HDD, very popular practice. And yes a 360 is cheaper than the Wii here too.
In the end, to be the market leader you have to have the casual audience, and Nintendo owns the casual audience. For Sony to do well here, they need to compete with Nintendo's price AND deal with the fact that the Wii is a pop culture phenomenon. Its just not going to happen. It's going to be a close battle for 2nd place but like I said, a price cut needs to come fast!
1) No, neither CoD3, Red Steel, Godfather, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil: Umbrella chronicals. And when you think of it, Zelda and Metroid are violent too if you want to get extreme. But then again lobbiests have never been consistant.
I say fuck the RIAA seriously. The artists make a small % off their music while most of it goes to the lablels... and the lables do what exactly?
Promote? I thought MTV, Channel V (Aust) and stuff like the internet do that well enough.
Distribute? In today's day and age Apple does that.
Write songs for the artists? If you cant write songs you are a meerly a preformer, you have no right to call yourself an artist.
Book venues and organize concerts? Umm no thats why you have a manager. The RIAA's role was about recording.
Providing equipment? Nothing a few instruments and a decent PC cant take care off these days.
So seriously, what do the lables do these days impart from acting like pimps and collect money? They are obsolete.
We man got smarts by cooking meats you vegan bitches!!! UGH-UGH-UGH-UGH-UGH (think Home Improvement)
You get your bitchass back in that kitchen.. and make me some pie! (think South Park)
I have gone though the forums of this site (Flat Earth Society) and it is quite obvious a dupe. Yes there are no doubt people out there that believe the earth is flat but this site is an obviously a dupe. Come on "the earth is constantly moving up at 1g" etc.
This is someone who seriosuly thinks the earth is flat: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=wppjYDj9JUc&feature=rec-fresh basically an Iraqi claiming the earth is flat because the Quran says so. The following is a transcript:
Interviewer: Lunar and solar eclipses, sunset and sunrise, and the changing of seasons -- how would you explain all these phenomena, if the Earth is not round, as you claim?
Fadhel Al-Sa'd: The sun circles the Earth because it is smaller than the Earth, as is evident in Koranic verses.
Have you ever seen how the sun moves? I have seen the sun moving. The sun makes one move every 24 hours.
What I say is based on Koranic science. He bases his arguments on the kind of science that I reject categorically -- the modern science that they teach in schools. This science is a heretic innovation that has no confirmation in the Koran. No verse in the Koran indicates that the Earth is round or that it rotates. Anything that has no indication in the Koran is false.
You do seem to give Mr Twitter the benifit of the doubt Mr Ash, in your above decrption of Twitter you missed out one important fact... Twitter and his sockpuppets all talk to eachother agreeing with eachother in a (poor) attempt to make it seem like people agree with him. Its not uncommon to see users such as Twitter, Erris, InTheLoo to all be conversing with eachother agreeing with eachother.
Another one is setting up sockpuppets to resemble more respected/. posters such as InTheGNU/InTheLoo Macthrope/Mactrope with an attempt get people not "on the ball" to falsly accuse the innocent of being him.
These tacticts are dishonest, and we suspect that he has some well hidden sockpuppets with high karma (that maybe he hasn't posted anything new in the past 2 years) to mod himself up.
Twitter is in karma hell for a reason. If he was more honest, and didnt use those tacticts he would be a more honest of the trolls and wouldn't have a huge backlash against him. Then again it wouldn't supprise me if this is how Twitter likes it.. after all, he's famous.
Theres some pages that lend to the possibility that the earth is round, however the "circle" statement is more consistent with a 2D circle (a circle is not a sphere) which is consistant with the flat earth belief that the earth was a flat circle which was a very common belief during ancient times. There is more in the bible to suggest its writers believed the earth was flat. However there are bible passages that suggested more of a rectangular held up by 4 pillars.
A flat earth would have allowed one to see "All the kingdoms" of the earth, however in a round earth context, there is no way China and Japan would have been viewable from Israel.
Someone accused me of being a Twitter sockpuppet a few weeks ago... I tend to only post in threads around GNU and GPL
That would be why, Twitter is a GNU and Linux troll, that really gives the open source community a bad name. However Twitter almost never (he's starting to in his sockpuppets) mentions MS, Microsoft or Windows, its always M$ and Windoze.
Twitter thrives on the facts that not everyone knows all of his sockpuppets (he has plenty of sockpuppets with very high karma that he uses to mod himself up) and when people are falely accused of being his sockpuppets. Caution
Next thing you know they will be studying to see if viruses have feelings and can feel suffeing. Then we will have bumper stickers saying "Save the viruses"
Similar but different. This one is about protecting members of other nations, especially if he was not directly involved in the crime and not in the country when it happened. That would be more like saying "Our laws and restrictions apply to other nations, we will write other countries laws for them" and "we can charge people with crimes who are outside our country"
As much as I dislike the pope I must admit that ruling was fair... unlike this one, the US Air Force is part of the nation of the United States, hence if the courts do not have jurisitcion over them, that is saying they are above US law fullstop. We know they dont really like to answer to the UN so basically the only person they consider themselves answerable to is a monkey (Bush).
Not much the judge could do here but I do think if they want to use software they should abide by the rules. The US Air Force was wrong for hiding behind this, and in this case it is apparent that they are being petty software pirates and everyone knows it.
I apologize, I keep a memory of accounts associated with Twitter, I remember that you are someone who has fought twitter not agree with him. It was a guilty by association accusation and wrong. Sorry dude
Haltenfrauden27: The latest of Twitter's sockpuppets. Another one: BUSTED! Already doing a typical Twitter to Twitter convo with the same language with one of his already exposed sockpuppets (Dreamchaser)
Just made today and already you couldn't help yourself couldn't you twitter!
Bad idea considering this about science education. Don't forget 44% of the US electorate think the earth is 6000 years old. Getting the parents involved is actually causing more trouble than helping.
I think the main problem with education is it tries a "one size fits all" approach. Some places it goes to redicilous lenghts like forcing classes onto everyone that few people will find interest in or help in careers like someone who wants to be a code monkey being forced to learn how to use a sewing machine (yes we were all forced into that class in my school in grade 8). The system needs to be more dynamic, sure teach the basics of the basics etc
This is slashdot... you dont have a girlfriend.
Well both Microsoft and Sony have spanked Activision and Harmonix over the compatibility issues. If its crappy, just get the Guitar Hero World Tour gear and the Rock Band 2 game.
towards Sony is making me feel dirty.

Microtransactions on Spore does seem like its going to happen for creature parts. New worlds or new parts of a world maybe for expansion packs.
Say what you will about EA, they have some new interesting stuff and not just Spore.. I am very interested in Mirror's Edge and Dead Space

What is this "exercise" thing I keep on hearing about?
The reason why it isn't as good is because lemmings needed a mouse. The best version of lemmings IMO was on the Amiga
