On the issue of guns it's also about what's legal. The Supreme Court has been very clear that the Republicans have been mostly right about what the Second Amendment is. If you want gun control you need to stop pretending like its optional and push for a referendum to repeal the Second Amendment. Most states are red and will likely vote against it, but it's really your only legal way at enacting gun control.
Forgot to mention, not sure about where the Supreme Court would come down on #5 that one I really dont know about if the 2nd Amendment covers ammo, should be fine but Im not aware if it's been tested in the supreme court or not.
Otherwise an achievable list
Number 2 would get thrown out on second amendment grounds unless you change the legal age of an adult to 21, bearing arms is a legal right for all adults and is not negotiable unless there is a constitutional amendment to repeal the second amendment which most states will block.
Number 3 would have no chances under the supreme court without a constitutional amendment, the reason the sawed off shotgun got rejected was because it wasn't useful in a war scenario.
Number 4: again, raise the legal age of an adult or a second amendment change, dont expect either to happen.
Otherwise everything else on the list is quite achievable. I would add one more: the media should not be encouraged to make shooters celebrities.
I agree with Valve that if you want to make a game about school shootings, great! Free expression FTW.
My issue is Steam is so bloody crowded full of absolute shit, I can't find anything good to play and its turning me off the platform. Its been a year since I have purchased anything on Steam directly, more through places like Humble Bundle.
Its a crowded mess full of asset fips and one man super buggy shit that are borderline playable.
If it was PC games I can sort of understand, Windows OS to a point too but considering we are in the age of web services and open source and gluts of free applications, more than any in history including the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, what applications would be pirated?
I knew a girl who thought she had her breast cancer beaten, clean bill of health for the doctors. 5 years later it returned with a vengeance, the second time it finished her. Sadly I hear stories like this alot for many different types of cancer too. Beating it once is doable quite a bit, and fantastic news advanced stage breast cancer can be beaten too, that gives hope that other real killers like pancreatic cancer can be treated too (claimed the life of my cousin, that one sadly there is no coming back from), but until we figure out why they come back and how to prevent it, cancer treatment is a delay not a cure.
How is it proprietary? Last time I checked it was licensed under the GPL All the distros wanted off init. Canonical did Upstart, which Red Hat even adopted for RHEL/CentOS 6 and designed SystemD to basically solve some of the issues with Upstart.
If SystemD never came about, everyone would have moved to Upstart.
X is not coming back either. Canonical tried their hand at Mir but Wayland is the future. The entire point of open source is the best technology wins out, and all the distos out there went with SystemD. Unless your distro is "EL" based you don't have to use it. Hell Debian and Red Hat are still nothing alike and Debian went down the SystemD path.
and much of the community has rejected it outright.
Yeah considering all the major distros use it now, you are talking bullshit. Gentoo lets you choose to not use it, but the default is SystemD.
Slackware is the only holdout left for any distro that has ever been of any consequence. SystemD is the standard for Linux, it already won that fight.
It was to see Deadpool, and that was because my wife was really nagging me to go.
Most of my "entertainment" time is sucked up by video games. Almost all my Neflix is stand up comedy. I just dont watch movies anymore.
If movie tickets were still $5 maybe I would have gone to see the new Star Wars movies. But considering the price costs more than an indie game, no way I will go.
Next thing the EU will force Google to censor or filter out anything critical of the EU regime under the guise of "Fake News".
The EU is going down the road of China and other totalitarian regimes. I thought the UK would be safe but the Torries internet policy was just as bad which is scary.
The fragmentation of services like HBO and the new Disney service will lead to a case against cord cutting, but the same can be said for piracy. A legit case against cord cutting is also a case that can be made for piracy. You would have thought they learned their lesson.
If it winds up being $AU8 then forget it, but $AU5, that and Stan ($AU10 a month) has everything my kids watch for the same price as Netflix ($AU15). Sure I'll consider it.
Back in the early 90's we were taught with a tool called LOGO Writer. Used a simple syntax to guide a turtle to draw objects and stuff. You could write loop statements that would have the turtle draw a "circle" and other things.
It was pretty effective I thought.
Winamp (winamp, winamp). It really whips the lama's ass.
Good times, good times. Im a Spotify user now but back in the days, use Napster (then Kazza) to download and Winamp to play. I also used Sonique which had the best skins of any application ever, but version 2 entered some kind of development hell.
But back to Winamp, is XMMS still being developed? I remember that was a fully working open source backport, compatible with Winamp 2 skins and everything. BeOS had CLamp that was the same thing.
As a whisky snob, I have no problem adding water but it depends on the whisky, In my personal experience in some cases water brings out more flavour, and in some it kills it.
When you go to a whisky tasting, taste it neat and then add a drop of water and compare it. Your mileage will vary.
This, I refuse to subscribe to HBOGo, I happily pirate Game of Thrones. Im on Netflix and Hulu and will not subscribe to a third. Same goes for Disney. I am happy to torrent whats not available on the main streaming services.
Disney and HBO have the ability to take my money, but in trying to extract more out of me they will get none.
I am not subscribing to any new services, especially single broadcast services like HBOGo, this new Disney channel, WWE Network or UFC Fight Pass. If Netflix or Hulu don't have it, I will ignore it. If my wife really wants it, there is bittorrent. Same goes for music and Spotify.
They can have my money, but there is only so many places I will throw it to. Single broadcaster services are not getting my money ever. Im willing to meet them half way but if they are not willing to go to services that people are already at, then IMO they can get fucked, I will just go back to torrenting or ignoring them completely.

The venture capital backed person will try and go after the original company for trademark infringement.

To be fair there is a flavor of Ubuntu in all the desktops.
Clippy: "I can see you are writing code for AWS? Would you like to migrate to Azure?" Select Yes or Yes.

A million dollars wont even get you a shitty dewlling you can only barely call a house in Sydney, Australia. It's insane.

Another day, another patent troll gets millions for abusing the patent system.

I live in Australia and they are everywhere. No shortages in sight.
There are calls by bureaucrats for similar measures in the EU to do the same thing. It's not as crazy as some people think.

Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Cinderella, Repunzal, yep fair point!
