Dude writes a blog post about a study that was covered on Slashdot already, gets blog post posted to Slashdot. Story still as boring as it was the first time.
"would a similar reaction to a couple of goofs making KKK or holocaust jokes or slurring some Middle Eastern religion in a public place have been acceptable?"
You're equating juvenile penis innuendo with racism? Are you an idiot or do you just play one on the internet?
If those maniacs didn't have access to firearms, they would have shattered PS3 disks and used the shards to stab people to death. Ban violent videogames now!
Anecdotal: my hardware firewall (old Pentium II desktop) is on top of a box in the basement a few feet from the furnace. Last time I was in there checking a cable, I noticed maybe 1/16" worth of dust all over it. I haven't had it open since I built it.
"If you wouldn't say something in front of your mother, your grandmother, your 5-year-old child, your boss, and a whole crowd of strangers, there's probably a good chance that it's not something that you should say at work."
Since you clearly know these men and their families personally, perhaps you could share more insight as to what exactly happened at the conference. Thanks in advance.
"Slashdot has reached a new low."
Not really. Just the usual bottom-of-the-barrel standards I've come to expect from this editor.
Or Richard Jewell.
"If you want congressmen to take your opinion seriously, you need to speak in the only language they understand... votes."
That's an odd way to spell "dollars." Is it a foreign word?
Just as long as they fund it.
As long as it doesn't embarrass or incriminate my friends or family members, why would I give a shit? I'd be dead.
Other things that will lead to Ubi increasing DRM enforcement are humidity, the sun rising in the east and puppies.

1/10. Troll harder.
I wouldn't recommend CloudFlare. Their engineers are fucking morons, and their service doesn't actually block attacks.

"The Croods took more compute cycles to create than any other movie they've made."
Does this mean they've finally managed to change the expression on character faces from their usual open-mouthed stupidity?

"Music is not about the quality of the recording. It is about the emotion that is brings and the memories that it feeds."
Thank you.
When the music transcends the medium, it doesn't matter if it sounds like cats being fed through a wood chipper. If it moves you, that's good enough.
Yeah, guys, stop being so racist against MBAs! It's a hate crime!
"There is a little trouble with the breaks"
Hip problems?
"This article should be pulled and whoever edited this fired."
As soon as I read that I thought "probably Timothy." And oh, hey...
Submitter is an idiot and Timothy should be embarrassed for posting this.
"Even 64Gb iPod Touches have enough storage for 15,000+ songs in WAV format."
Close! It's actually more like 1,300 songs, depending on song length.
"Of course, my high-frequency hearing is pretty much gone now"
Which means the fact that your hats and cymbals sound like they're underwater probably doesn't bother you...

Electrostatic contamination probably shouldn't concern you.
Ah, then I stand corrected.

Then do something about it. Bitching about it passive-aggressively online is the same thing Adria did.
