i think starcraft 2 followed by diablo 2 & a diablo movie would be some major blockbusters for blizzard... hopefully these rumors will come true. can't wait!
i'm sick and tired of corporations claiming they have the same rights guaranteed by the constituion and the friggin supreme court(s) doing & ruling the same. they're a corp. not an individual! like i have really have the same platform to reach ppl like MICROSOFT, NIKE, or AMAZON.COM...
i'll be somewhat surprised if this bill passes since a federal bill last year here in the states made it so that foods can be up to 75% genetically engineered/modified and they still can be labeled organic! (lobbyists were/are cashing in on the "organic" boom as a marketing ploy for making more money).
very interesting! i've always found the understanding of time and space (and in particular their relation to each other) interesting, being that i'm a trekkie and all...
lol. ditto. a word processor can't really be "kick arse".
but if you are on ubuntu or kubuntu feisty one must e2fsck off before resizing ext2/3 partitions.;)
unfortunately, i do not have an external hdd. and just to clarify, after grub starts loading the kernel and what not is when the screens goes blank for ~2 minutes till graphical login. as i said before, i do not know if the screen going blank between initial kernel load and graphical login is a (k)ubuntu feature or if there is something wrong. apparently, as i was told, you should be able to press F2 to see the loading process, but nothing happens when i try that...
i made the switch over 2 years ago and i have to say...
i have not found a single drawback. the java thing as a dependency is about the only thing i can think. i made the switch to linux permanently on the desktop (kubuntu) from winxp and i noticed that ooo wasn't that slow on windows (on a relatively older pc [2004]) and i've found that it is MEGA fast on linux. it loads up way faster than m$ office on windows or even, as i said before, ooo on windows. i have only once or twice ran into m$ --> ooo incompatibility afa formatting is concerned. i'm not trying to sound like an ooo fanboy, but i can't think of anything negative in regards to ooo.
i've been using kubuntu for about a year (testing feisty beta now) and for quite a while now i have noticed a problem that this article might help with. i don't have to reboot very often, a heck of a lot less than on windows, but when i do, it takes about two minutes. doesn't sound like much, but that is about 2-3x longer than before. i was told that you can press F2 after you choose your grub entry to see the progress and what it going on, but that doesn't work for me. i press F2 but the screen just remains black for about two minutes then it gets to graphical login. does anyone know if that is an ubuntu/kubuntu "feature" or not?
very, very well said. especially stating that you DO owe them money when you sign the "contract/waiver" so to speak.
the supreme court has indeed ruled that the 16th amendment did not give congress any new taxing powers.
again. very well spoken.
no. actually i don't pay the personal income tax. but thats cuz i'm currently self employed. (unemployed lol) i do a bit of illustration and graphic design on the side. nothing major. not enough to qualify for the "so called" income tax.
let me make this clear. i didn't bring this up for reasons you might think. its up to you. you can take the gamble. its wise to pick your battles tho. i just brought this up to make ppl aware. ppl can't do anything if they don't know about it.
if you knew the history behind this subject you wouldn't have posted what you did. there were and still are powerful banking interests (particularally in europe) that tried many times before 1913 to get that type of law or amendment cuz americans WEREN'T taxed before on their personal income. they finally succeeded in 1913 by only getting a handful of legislators to ratify it (at midnight i think) cuz THEY KNEW they (the fed) couldn't get it passed any other way. thats one of the main reasons they always failed in the past, then soft money and coprorate interest tooks its first huge victory and stranglehold on our govt. and an amendment to the constitution requires a 2/3 approval! NOT ONE PENNY OF OUR INCOME TAX GOES TO PAY FOR GOVT. WAGES, SERVICES OR ANYTHING OF THAT KIND. its goes to pay off the federal reserve banking system that issues our money. the power to do that switched from the U.S. GOVT (which is always how it should have stayed, thats how its set up in the declaration of independence! many presidents before this warned against changing it. see jefferson & lincoln for example). by paying off the fed i mean our income tax goes to pay off the interest they (the fed) charge the govt. for issuing the money! it was all set up that way by construction, not by our govt., but by the central banks of europe. a president, i forget which one, but it was within the last 50 years if memory serves me, started a commission which investigated this and it found indeed that not one penny of the personal income tax paid by americans goes to anything but paying off the fed's interest that they charge the govt. for the issuing. (i would think that a president would know that already). see here for more info about what happened to jfk when he issued executive order 11,100: http://www.rense.com/general44/exec.htm (i'm not saying thats the sole reason why he was assassinated, but i'm pretty sure its a safe bet that it was a factor of some importance). AND ppl who care about things being done the right way in govt., the way they were set up to be done by our fore-fathers and constitution ARE NOT kooks, they're the ones who care. apparently not you.
too bad there is no law stating that americans have to pay an income tax. the 16th amendment was not properly ratified and the supreme court has consistently ruled in the past that a citizen's (NOT corporation's) labor is his own property and can not be taxed by the government. its thanks to the stupid lower courts that ignore their responsibility to follow the supreme court's findings/precedents that confusion arose and sidelined the movement against 16th amendment/personal income tax....

the pharmaceutical industry used be banned by law from advertising. (at least on tv). then, thanks to lobbyists, those laws were obliterated. more money is spent on advertising drugs than almost anything else now if i'm not mistaken. we have been and are still being "programmed" to think we NEED drugs of every kind for everything down to a chipped finger nail. natural treatments are often as or more effective than drugs without the side-effects.
now combine that with the effect of the different pharmaceutical corporations lawyers' writing the law that became the medicare part d program and you've got a good idea of the recent history of drugs in america. (yes, for a long time, (lobbyists as a middle-man), congress has been allowing major corporations' lawyers to write our laws. quid pro quo: An equal exchange or substitution.[something for something.])
i don't mean to sound condescending, or anything like that, but i heard and watched a program where this very thing was talked about in length two or three years ago...
don't get me wrong, i'm not a republican or democrat. "at the end of the day is just trying to force their opinions down your throat": i don't have the slightest idea how that makes sense...
"Whether you agree with the candidates beliefs or you just don't like their hair color.": does that include skin color?
"What matters most is that you had an opinion on something and voted how you wanted to." all mean is getting as well informed about the candidate as you can so as to make sure (as much as possible) that they mean what they say and intend to follow through. i suppose thats all you really can do. (assuming anyone follows through now-a-days).
i don't wanna start a flame war or anything, but to sum up what i meant in my post, the "obligations" i was referring to were GETTING INFORMED is all. getting informed and then voting for whoever you damn well please.
i have always felt that a person shouldn't vote unless they're informed. sure its our "right" but we have many different types of obligations (that i believe imo) we must follow. those obligations are pre-requisites to voting.
i think starcraft 2 followed by diablo 2 & a diablo movie would be some major blockbusters for blizzard... hopefully these rumors will come true. can't wait!
this "boy" (now a man) certainly wasn't one of them.
i believe there are some studies that have shown that the aluminum salts in deodorants can damage DNA as well.

not so funny....well kinda...
oh sweet. thank you! i will try it.

flac all the way buddy. it more than meets your criteria. and its open source. can't get any better imho.

if the verdict was in her favor, then i believe the headline is inaccurate. she didn't "win" the right, it was upheld.
