But Mac apps, on average, are more thoughtfully designed and crafted than their equivalents on PCs.

What you really mean is YOU PERSONALLY like mac stuff better. And that's fine to say, a computer is a tool and you can use what you want, but don't try to butter it up with all this bullshit.
You can get 1000 commercial pressed CDs, insert printed, and shrink-wrapped for under a grand. And a nice package, too.
Recording is fairly inexpensive, too. And at a studio, not at your mom's basement on your dad's computer.
Album budgets are out of whack in the majors. There's no need for a band to spend over fucking month in a studio writing the album. That's what practice spaces are for, and they cost less than a day's time in a decent studio.

This confuses me, as their are many bands/musicians on major labels that would define themselves as "indie". That also confuses me.
