I get to be more than slightly biased about this one. My fiancees father has been the head of Bayer Crop Sciences here in Kansas City for many years now, and if he claims the rice isn't actually contaminated nor will it do a single human harm, I'm fairly willing to believe him. And, do me a favor and don't assume simply because he works for the company that he's pro-Bayer in everything. Hardly. They have a cat and a dog and to keep any potential fleas at bay, they use Frontline not Advantage, because he knows that Advantage doesn't hold a candle to Frontline. (Pssst, if you're confused, Advantage is made by Bayer whereas Frontline is made by Merial).
At least some lawyers are willing to fight the 'terror machine' known as the RIAA. And in regards to the cost, you DO have the option of asking around to the various lawyers who are on this list if you are nailed with a lawsuit and finding out if any of them are willing to take the case pro bono. As far as the RIAA terrible 'proof' they seem to have it in their heads that since they have all the money, they are above and beyond the 'innocent until proven guilty' motto. What we need is some legal precedence to establish real and true evidence not easily doctored screen shots. Offering as proof any evidence that even someone with extremely limited photoshop skills could alter is not only foolish, it's dangerous. Dangerous because if estabished as proof, the RIAA can target ANYONE they so choose.
Yes and no. He was one of those, 'very intelligent but manipulative types.' Extremely nice at first, but after time, because quite 'dominating' and 'using'. After draining her bank account dry he found that her parents would send her money if she needed it, and basically took them all for quite the ride. It's not due to the fact that she's bad at choosing men per se, it's more that some people are truly evil and abusive in many ways without needing to lay a hand on a person.
I do understand why having credit checks in many cases is valid. However, there are many instances where this does more harm than good. One perfect example is my girlfriend. She's very smart, motivated, young and energetic. Alas, she hasn't been able to get any work in the last 9 months because every place she has applied to does credit checks. Does she have bad credit due to poor money management or financial skills? No. Hardly. She can save money better than anyone I know. She doesn't blow a cent, never shops for herself, and the only things she buys are for her son. Yet, due to the fact that she owes a large sum of money to an apartment complex in Florida because her ex-boyfriend fuc*ed her over on the lease, she's going to have shi* credit for the next five years. And there is nothing she can do about it. So now she can't get a decent paying job, can't finance a car, or a house if she so chose to do, and can't even put her name down to rent an apartment. So, at 24 years of age, she has to suck it up, and suffer the embarrassment of living home with her parents and son. Not because she doesn't have the skills to succeed, but because so many places of employment are determining a persons fate on a goddamned credit check. So yeah, I think this is total bullshi*. Call me biased, but I have every right to be.
> Windows Vista is going to touch hundreds of millions of lives all around the world.
It'll be a two part touch.
Part one: As they rip the wallet from your pants pocket.
Part two: As you find yourself naked from the waist down, bent over and violated by yet another 'glorious' Microsoft product.
Uh let's see. Republicrats and demopublicans.......
Once partisanship becomes what it its supposed to be, then I'll say, 'Yes, I can trust the government' again. Also, the damages that have been unleashed on us in the last 6 years by our administration need to be repaired before I'll say that.
I'm just waiting until AOL finally curls up and dies. Been waiting for over a decade now...but it seems like the wait may get substantially shorter now.
It's because Google is being smart. They know they need ownership to make the real money, but instead of attempting to beat the telco's when they don't yet have the backing and finances, they are biding their time. Trust me, as soon as Google has their hands in enough, they will launch their attack against the telco's and bury them swiftly. Even though I understand some people apprehension with Google being 'in cohorts' with the NSA, I'd rather have them providing me with services than say, Time-Warner, AOL, Verizon, Sprint, Comcast or others. Give it time, and you'll wake up one day, log in to your extremely overpriced ISP and you'll get a letter from Google saying, "Hey, we've decided to give you an amazing broadband connection. But there's one condition, you have to pay nothing for it. Have a nice day." You may think that is unfeasable, but keep in mind, Google is a multi-billion dollar corporation right now. And what do you as the consumer get charged for the services they already provide? Nil or next to it. Save for google checkout and google earth (the top edition) everything is free. And even those two services are much less than comperable services provided from other corp's. So yes, google pwns the net as far as making their money solely from advertising, and here they are, yet again absorbing more money from advertising. It's a brilliant move, so let's hold our breath and hope that google can indeed pull something positive out of their backsides for the general consumer.
All I can say is I'm damned glad November 19th is almost here. Wii!!!!

It's called constructive criticism. And it's all about trying to make a great product even better.
I'll just stick to my Macromedia Flash MX 2004. I like being able to do absolutely everything in notepad :P

Let the wardriving games commence.

As the saying goes, the people shouldn't be afraid of their government, the government should be afraid of its' people.
As you hear him open a bottle of anal-lube and lather it all over the legs of the nearest chair.
Yeah, and certainly not at the cost of some gayass, pathetic, 'we-don't-belong-in' war in Iraq.
G(reat) W(hite) B(ullsh*tter) That's all I need to say.
Perhaps they're a bit underfunded after having to replace 4 million+ laptop batteries?
