Cheap to buy but also very expensive value wise. My brother had my sister-in-law's grandmother's diamond remounted. Supposedly it was worth a lot more than an equivalent diamond due to the fact that it was prepared a while back.
My wife wasn't mindfucked by the DeBeers commercials (partly cause her mom worked in a jewelry store). Her ring came out to $400 CDN. She figured rather than blow all the money on an expensive ring put it towards the wedding and honeymoon.
I think the fact that MS has finally gotten an OS that is relatively stable (note I said relatively, I have had one BSOD in about 6 months with XP) that you are starting to see less grumbling and more positive comments about MS. Now that stability is more evident next is security....
If you want to find the epitomy of boot disk, look up Bart's boot disk on Google. Completely modularized with plugins for multitudes of nic cards, protocols, and drivers. All with pretty menus. I use it at work quite a bit.
I agree, At home I have a Zip drive that I use as backup drive with a Scheduled batch file doing incremental backups once a day. I have had it for about 4 years and been backing up pretty regularly at least once a week since then.
I agree that SNL is different but they seemed off their mark and almost like they were trying to remember their lines. Compared to their previous live performances it was definitely not their finest. Course this is my opinion and others may disagree.
My concern is if the original members did do it, it would be as bad as when they did the dead parrot sketch on SNL a while back. It was pretty sad and the flow wasn't there. It was probably thrown together at the last minute.
I was thinking (course this is optimistic) that maybe, just maybe, some of these Windows users have actually learned from reading articles about security or talking to people and are using software (Zonealarm, Winroute, etc.) or hardware (Linksys Routers, etc) firewalls.
Wouldn't it be a good idea to start categorizing applications more specific like "Web Browsers", "FTP Clients", rather than one whole category called "Net". Maybe have Sub Categories in KDE or Gnome?
I think this could help the new user. I remember when I first started playing with Linux I wasn't sure what half the apps did and was afraid to remove them. If I had seen that they were IRC clients that I wasn't going to use then I may have felt a little less overwhelmed and more sure about removing them.
Still amateur 486DX 8M Ram still running windows 95. The catch? It isn't mine, it is my father in laws. I keep trying to convince him to upgrade but he would rather put money in his practice.
Don't get me wrong, if they work for you great but how many people have perfect feet (not a lot) but how many people go to the local Foot Locker and buy Nike shoes because they look pretty. These people are usually the ones who come up afterwards and tell you to stop running cause it will kill your knees.
One thing I can recommend of Nike is the PSA Play MP3 Player (actually they are made by Rio) but get better headphones they are really tinny.
This was my point you need practically perfect feet to use Nike. They make great basketball shoes but that is about it. I keep seeing these new shox shoes and wonder really how long they are going to last and whether it is really just a gimmick, remember the flashy lights?

I think MS would rather me pay them since it is a ahem, a hot copy of XP.

For booting into linux this way EVIL MS doesn't overwrite it.
I have XP Pro at home with a Nvidia Geforce 2MX and it has been stable (rock solid to be precise) Even NWN is fine.
People are not that stupid. :)
Do I have to pull the Java version of Wordperfect out of it's grave to remind you of what people are capable of doing?
I heard the same thing about an old Apollo workstation too!
I believe he named it (from deductive reasoning only) because he was located in Kanata (a suburb of Ottawa)
Try cleaning the lens (carefully though). I had that happen with an old 4416 yamaha.
5.1.2600 to be precise

ewww make sure you get the link right the 404 page is pretty ugly, not Goatse.cx mind you but bad enough
That's really strange I put joke tags around the comment and it showed in preview but once I submitted they disappeared. hmmm
Looking at Nortel Stock (who owns Bay Networks) soon you may be able to buy the whole company and solve the whole problem.
Forgot to mention I would like to see who sponsored this study though.

Like I said it may be optimistic.

Just an idea.
