Right...who's gonna pass the bill? The congresscritters who are in the pockets of big business? I'm not sure what the solution is at this point. The only way to get elected seems to be by quid pro quo with special interests who have lots of money. Where are the candidates who actually care about our Bill of Rights, our Constitution and it's amendments, and the people they were created to protect?
I think AT&T is just the first domino in line. Ditching them won't do you any good when others will be following. I can certainly see Sprint and Verizon taking advantage of AT&T going first..."hey, we can say everyone is doing it!"
"may disclose your information in response to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process,"
Nice and broad. I wonder who gets to define "legal process".
It's a government plot to keep track of stray electrons in order to prevent terrorism....tinfoil hat firmly in place (gotta protect myself from stray electrons)
Telecomuting policies need to be put in place and enforced. Likewise, policies need to be put in place for any kind of data leaving the office be it on laptop, jump drive, backup tapes, or anything else...including hard copies.
Of course that's easier said than done. I'm still partially deaf from the screaming that took place when we required all of the organization's Blackberrys to be password protected.
What are we after today? Bunnies, roos, toads, or terrorists? Don't forget, if Cheney is on your team, keep your head down!
Seriously, invasive species require extreme measures to try and preserve the natural order in a given environment. Other than defense of your country I can't think of a better use of troops.
Microsoft is saddled with the need to make new versions backwards compatible with its prior, problem ridden products. That being said, I have to grudgingly admit they have made improvements in some areas.
Oh come on... Considering how long Microsoft's development cycle is that could have been years ago. If I remember correctly, XP's SP1 came out in '02 sometime. That's four years ago. A lot of experience can be gained in that amount of time.
The general, non-science following population needs to be able to see a tangible goal for each launch in order to make it seem worthwhile to them. Until we can provide them a better goal, resupplying and manning ISS is something they view as a goal.
You forgot...
6. Have Congress rape NASA's budget further by requiring earmarks for their favorite local pet projects having any kind of a "space" theme.
In doing your homework you might double check your spelling...indispensable.;)
Your statement that most other sources can't be trusted bothers me. Lots of sources can be trusted if you know the source well enough to recognize any inherent bias. Of the two specific sources you listed I personally find BBC news to be much less biased than most US based news sources.
Wikipedia is at least as biased as Slashdot. One of the big differences is that Wikipedia tends to have fewer biases for its overall breadth. You have to look harder for its biases. With Slashdot they tend to be more obvious...M$ = bad, *nix = good, Mac = in between.
But the email address is spoofed. Perhaps it is spoofed as someone they know or an organization they do business with. After all, it is a targeted attack and it wouldn't be too difficult to do a little prior homework to pick email addresses to spoof as.
I saw this in a dream...right after 6/6/06 Bill would leave the leadership of M$ to others because he has other duties to fulfill for his father Satan.
I wish I had mod points. Attrition's Postal section is more fun than Slashdot...
PR! Good public relations is worth anything. Sell your soul to the devil for good PR! That is how you generate $$$.
I'm assuming you meant proprietary. Sorry, that's the spelling nazi in me.

Right...so now another way my tax dollar is being used to violate my privacy. Oh, the irony. I don't know whether I should laugh or cry.
Forward all of your bills to them.
Yes, minor miners are a minority in mines.
What do kids have to do with it?

Nothing is wrong with the ESRB ratings. The FTC's beef should be with either the retailers or the parents or both.
Yeah, you're right! It's just like calling someone a network engineer because the have and MCSE.
It looks fine in my Firefox.
Interesting idea for a poll...what percentage of Slashdot users submit crash reports? I never bother.
