I just hit level 40 and wanted to get a mount. That would take about 90 gold, and I figured it would take me about a month to save that much. (I'm a casual player, maybe 5 hours a week). For $12 I got all the money I needed, in an hour.
New the game is fun again, and I travel / level faster.
I have found a way better game to play online. It's a lot more challenging and fun then Wow, Second life, or Ever quest combined! This online game also allows you to earn real money!
It's called running an online business. You can pick from a range of class types, (blogger, storekeeper, programmer) or create your own!
The game content is simply amazing! It is virtually infinite, and changes daily!
You can play as much or as little as you want. Spend an hour, a day or an hour a week, it's up to you!
I've been playing for a few months now and its a blast! Check out my avatar cl1p!
I'm not optimistic. It seams like Microsoft has lost its greatest asset. Talented developers. They don't make great software like they used to (Word, Excel).
Followed by the great Commodore 64. I got my mileage out of that machine! And then about 8 years later the Amiga 500. Then I decided to slum it with the rest of the world and got a 286.
I really wish they would make a console system that could be programmed out of the box. That's why I'm a programmer today, because I was able to write my own games as a kid. But the kids with the consoles can't program it out of the box. It think it's a real shame.
...with smart courteous people is the way to go. However at most places they simply put all of the 'tech' people into a crowded space, working on unrelated projects. Some people are loud and rude, (eating at their desk, coming into work sick, bad hygiene, having private conversations in close proximity to coworkers.)
From what I see Google has it right.
- Everyone working in the same space is on the same project. - They have a dedicated cafeteria. I would imagine that eating at your desk and taking unrelated phone calls is not tolerated.
To many IT shops just pile people into a crowded room without any thought on managing that space.
Is it really such a big leap from government selling you land and a company selling you a portion a memory. With a land purchase from a government you are entering a contract with them, the government can change its mind and take back the land, the government can fall and you land claim is null.
Now companies go under way more often then governments, but governments do go under, and land claims are invalidated. But it is similar.
It's because spelling mistakes don't cause compile errors or crashes. It doesn't matter how you spell a variable name, only that you spell it the same way every time.
I am writing an application to help with this very problem. I call it Cold Spell.
Reminds me of the Gap books by Stephen R. Donaldson. In these books they had an alien race that genetically modified stuff to make (err shit) spaceships, weapons, everything. Their only problem was that they could not make enough.
I've been using napster to go for a few months now and I Love it. I have access to any track they have and I can transfer music to my Zen Micro player and listen to it whenever I want.
I prefer renting to buying when it comes to entertainment. As long as I can listen to the music I want, whenever I want, I don't mind a monthly fee.
With the number of page views they get, adsense is already paying them close to 2 mill a month.

Right with you man!
It would be nice if these articles would useful for the non people, people here. One of the big joys of working with computers is the lack of people.
That reminds me. cl1p.net The worlds largest notebook. :)

cl1p.net The worlds largest notebook.
But they could do this!
I'm not saying put Basic on the 360, just some type of programming environment that would let the kids make games!
Heck they could make it a download in the XBox live marketplace.
Microsoft, if you want the 360 to have a long and happy lifespan give us free programming tools!
No cash for the nice computers. :( 286 is what I could afford.
This flash vid says it all.
Hey Hey 16k.
Enjoy! (Original site was down. For reference it's http://www2.b3ta.com/heyhey16k/)

Isn't del.icio.us the same thing as backflip.com. They both do bookmarking, what's the difference?
Will there be another railsday, like the one they had last June?

Does this mean that a .net application will require installation of the .net framework on a basic longhorn install?
