i have a Pentium II 350Mhz with 256MB RAM and Windows 2000 and it doesn't play YouTube videos flawlessly. The videos are so choppy. I once installed Ubuntu with Gnome and it was even more slow. If you are viewing a webpage with various Youtube videos using Firefox the CPu goes to to 100%. This happens even with my Laptop with a Pentium M 740 using version 2 of Firefox or the latest beta version. In IE or Opera this doesn't happen though.

Wavelets has lots of applications in segmentation methods as well as Markov Fields for example. They are good at finding differences in images textures. Computer vision is still a field that needs a lot of development. It's very difficult to find proper methods to solve a problem. And yes when it works it only does in very special conditions. The same can be said about speech and text recognition. But don't you think it is worth all the work people have made? By making small steps we can reach the goal we all desire, no?
i really would like to live in that world you are living where EVERYTHING works after installing Linux and i mean work 100% like it works on Windows. Look for example sound quality in Linux, it is always really shit sound quality.... i can't put my volume at 100% unless i want to hear a distorted sound....
ATI in Linux sucks big time. I have a x700 in my laptop and it's a major pain in the ass to have properly installed drivers in my laptop. Many times drivers simply don't want to install properly or when they do they are so slow compared to XP drivers. And what's more interesting is that maybe in 90% of all Linux distributions i get a blank screen when i try to install them, i have to edit xorg.conf and add a few commands just to make stuff appear on my screen to install it. I bow to Ubuntu people for fixing this bug but in other major distributions like OpenSuse or PcLinuxOS it always happens this shit. Oh and that opensource Ati drivers sucks even more than the official ATI drivers. I never got that to work properly.
