Cali just wants your money, it's not unheard of to have 1000 dollar yearly car registrations there. Honestly, you can get a drivers license in California even if you aren't a US citizen or can't even read English words on road signs. The state of California will bleed you dry, they don't care if you are safe, it's all for the money. Insurance fees, taxes, flight testing school... blah blah blah Do what I did 8 years ago, move out of California.

Not right of hand, no. Don't have the time to spend to go looking the crap up in my filing cabinets. So, I restate that the above statement is true with no research to back it up because I'm lazy. It's out there if you look for it. There were also rulings against companies by the FTC for false advertising and promises not fulfilled which resulted in several monetary rewards. Again, not going to back up with references, you can find it if you want. Just search for hooked on phonics and FTC .. Shouldn't take too long.

If she encounters something she can't read, read it for her, or you can sit next to her as she plays the game. There is the crux of the situation. Both my sister and I were both earlier readers compared to other children and this is where the DS is a problem. You have to spend time with your children reading and sounding out word parts with them. Parents have to make time to read with their children, everyday. If you give your child the DS and they start learning words just by memorization to get through whatever level, a la hooked on phonics, they will suffer later in life with reading comprehension. Books are cheaper or free in some cases. Plus, you don't have to buy batteries for them. :)

I wonder if this creation by the music labels has gone wild. To me it seems like they are out of control and there is money to be made by continuing these lawsuits. Either by profits on people just settling with the lawyers or the RIAA is selling this thing as a quick and easy fix for slow record sales, even though the record sucks, the RIAA can fix it for them. The record labels may be the victims now to false promises and quick money schemes, maybe Time-Warner has figured out that they are getting screwed over by their own creation? kron

Look, I've been a window user for years... I just don't understand Apple. They have vision, ideas and a damn good OS. Why do they keep shooting themselves in the foot? Mac users must be frusterated because of the one step forward and then five steps back Apple keeps taking. Why not keep it open, what are they afraid of, people actually using their desktop? I just wish Apple would realize that there is a secondary OS niche that needs to be filled and if they just jump into it they might come up as winners. When there's an opportunity to be taken they back off. They avoid conflict.... WHY?!?!? Damn you Apple! I want to use your OS! STOP MAKING IT HARD TO SWITCH!!!!!
