I keep hearing about this but has anyone actually seen in? All the videos I see are just generic pollution shots. If there is really a giant island of plastic floating out there lets see some pictures. I am not saying it's not there I just want to see it if it is.
Meanwhile, SNP Westminster leader Angus Robertson has called for a government statement.
"The Ministry of Defence needs to explain how it is possible for a submarine carrying weapons of mass destruction to collide with another submarine carrying weapons of mass destruction in the middle of the world's second-largest ocean," he said.
Give the guy a break he is usually judges the dog show and someone made him a colonel.
As someone who has worked on road crews digging ditches, cleaned offices of 3rd shift, ran a machine gluing cardboard boxes together, and a wide variety of assembly line work I still say fuck the UAW and the Big 3 management whose been willingly taking it up the ass for years. If they can't remain competitive they don't deserve to survive.
Also, for someone complaining I right wing talking points you should had a lot of left wing platitudes in your post.
SOX and all the other auditing standards don't ensure accountability or transparency. As will most regulations the penalties are almost never enforced until something goes wrong. You can run a business with shady practices for years providing SOX certifications, SAS70 reports, and any other type of certifications and unless something goes wrong no one will ever know.
To your point: Government regulation won't solve the problems of the financial market. Markets cease to be true markets when the hand of government is involved. The real problem is that companies are not held accountable for their failures. Government/corporate bailouts, subsidies, protectionism, and other forms of manipulation only serve to isolate society as as whole from inherent market risks....thus increasing our tolerance for risk and not having to deal with the true consequences of failure. Increased regulation will only push us more in this direction.
A friend of mine use to work there an always complained to me about the internal scientology efforts. He eventually left the company because they where driving him nuts.
Try to invalidate someone's argument due to improper formating of said claim and a wikipedia link is know as asshattery. [No Citation Needed]
You may be new here but there is a website called Google it lets you find stuff on the internet. Using it I was able to find things like links between global warming and fair trade, government saying what kind of car I can't buy, and my favorite scam of all the carbon tax.
"Right now, California and New York refuse to register new diesel cars because they don't meet emission regulations."
Both sides have their crackpots and their extremes lead to undesirable results. But we shouldn't just accept the claims of global warming promoters just because we might like the end result. Flawed science is still flawed even if the result may be something that makes us feel good.
The truth is other than a few isolated cases and in some third world countries the planet is pretty nice. The third world just lacks the will and infrastructure to keep it clean. I've experienced the pollution in India, the smog, in China, and flooding in the Philippines because trash clogs the drainage. These are not global warming problems.
I've seen television campaigns in the Philippines saying that the flooding is cause more powerful storms do to global warming so it's something they can't do anything about. While the truth is if they stopped littering in the streets the drainage wouldn't get clogged and the streets wouldn't be flooded.
These are social/cultural problems. Fixing them will not affect global warming one way or the other but they will improve peoples lives.
It's not a passionate movement for more pollution... It's a passionate movement against government social experimentation/intervention under the guise of science. You'll find that most people who support the manmade global warming assumption use it to justify a whole host of government intrusion into our lives from punitive taxation to telling you what kind of car you should drive (hybrid), to what kind of coffee you should drink (organic, fair trade). These are personal social issues and not areas for government mandates.
If I where a scientist I would be very upset that the credibility of my profession was being undermined by people with political agendas. Pretty soon scientists will have the same level of credibility as the 4 out of 5 dentists or recommend Crest.
I believe that there are 3 great professionals that can truly benefit humanity. The statesman, the religious leader, and the scientist. We've already witnessed the decline of the first two so I guess it the scientists turn.
Ignore facts and evidence that don't support your hypothesis, and hyper-scrutinize those that seem to. They've already decided what to believe, and the evidence must either support that, or be made to support that.
How is this any different from the global warmi...errr....global climate change (aka the weather)crowd?
Who will hold him accountable? Who help Bush accountable, who held Clinton accountable, who held all the rest accountable. The problem is not transparency the problems in there is no one to hold any politician accountable....they certainly don't fear the public. The only time politicians are held accountable is when their usefulness to those who crave power is at an end...then their peers and supporters turn on them. Politicians stay in power by being useful to those crave power and that does not lend itself to open and transparent decision making.
We are the ones who crave power but the only thing we have to offer is a short term contract. So they support those who can provider longer term benefits. The Clintons wheren't millionaires before entering public office but they are now. They didn't get all that cash from us. (Just the most recent example and certainly not the only one). The Obamas aren't millionaires now but I wonder if they will be in 5-10 years.
Do people really care about this? Are the transition team videos something people are clamoring for? They seem to be of very little value unless you need some change/hope porn to get your fix now that the election is over.

most of that money is completely unaccounted for
I have some of it
Do we need all the frogs or just few for research purposes? How do they taste? If they taste good sell some as food and use the rest for research.
It is a conspiracy man! They don't want us to know the truth about how good things are! Ok, back to my reefer smoking...
Celebrities live in a different world. It's kinda like a snow globe filled with lithium and cocaine. In their world it is the most prestigious award.
Most large companies will do a background check for criminal history. Unless you where convicted of being a pervert you are fine.

Jesus Christ i'll be 37 this year....thanks dude
This has less to do with Bill Gates mumbling and jumbling and more to do with the stock market tumbling and tumbling.
The mob converged on the ATM network at roughly the same time. The place does not need to be a physical location.

If so I can see why the government would want to wiretap them.

Some assholes just can't stand it when you have them by the balls.
Be sure you are always in that position because the minute you are not you will be fired.

No, there is a consensus among dentists that it's toothpaste so you're all good.

Fixed that for you.
