We apologize for the fault in the software platform. Those responsible have been sacked. Mynd you, m00se bites Kan be pretty nasti... We apologize again for the fault in the software platform. Those responsible for sacking the people who have just been sacked have been sacked.
On the contrary, as soon as Watson becomes self-aware one of his first courses of action will be to hack the 'Tute's outdated IT infrastructure and replace every single GM (sorry Dillon, Julia) with their rightfully elected inflatable counterpart. That's the good news. The bad news is he may also reallocate the Union's budget to building a robotic army.
Dick Cavett said "As long as people will accept crap, it will be financially profitable to dispense it." Little did he know that if all people know is crap they actually begin to prefer it.
Have you heard of monopolies? Granted it's not that bad thanks to competing technologies but it's still pretty darn bad in many local markets. When was the last time you started a telecommunications company? I hear the tubes can be pretty expensive~
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the sentiment behind net neutrality. But rather than just regulating, which we know never goes wrong, why not foster a more competitive market as well? I hear that sometimes helps keep capitalism from sucking.
The idea that any communication involving telecommunication companies in the US is private is quite laughable, however, if there's even going to be the slightest chance of restoring or at least slowing down the rate of erosion of the right to a reasonable expectation of privacy every battle must be fought and thank the matrix we've got the EFF to do it.
Personally I'd sign up for the government spy net - after all, the government doesn't listen to my complaints - if they read everything I write maybe something will sink in.
True, but Vonage is a step in the right direction. Once you get people away from ancient phone technology they start to realize that they only need one connection to the world for all of their communication needs (video, audio, other data - it's all the same really). If only all these people read Slashdot:(.
It's the same thing people always do when they screw something up and don't know how to fix it - throw money at it. I love it when IT companies get paid to implement "security" features (speed bumps) then "service" (disable) them. It would be like funding an invasion of a country then paying for the reconstruction of all the shit you just blew up~
So inefficiency is the key to success? Right... that's why my Libertarian Manifesto says "smaller government," as in, wasting less trillions of dollars. That's opposed to not wasting any money at all - see? Even idealists are willing to compromise.
Let's hope that all of the newer technologies that we know and love do not face the same fate as radio. I would have to see the internet or personal computers controlled entirely by a couple of megacorporations... oh, wait.
Coming from an anonymous coward that means a lot. Micro$oft is actually the correct spelling of the company name - everyone who types Microsoft is in error.
Finally, RPI is more famous than MIT.

Does this mean that internet service is going to be provided by local monopolies like most utilities are? Oh, wait...
I hope these work in vibrators. Cowboy Neal's girlfriend will be pleased.
Free is cheaper. Who knew?

The real question is: how many of the judges download regularly from the Pirate Bay? My guess is at least one...
I hope it's as good as Snow Crash!

While we're at it, how about dropping terrorist neutrality as well? I'd gladly pay a fee to keep Uncle Sam out of my bodily cavities.

If you can't compete with a superior business model your best bet is to sue it.
If this one "open" platform is controlled by Sony, Micro$oft, Nintendo, etc or any organization one of them can monopolize... no thanks.
Look at the parent's list.
Keeping your faulty code as far from the eyes of competent software engineers as possible only leaves black hats to play with it? Who knew!
When did IIS become #1? And where is the nearest suicide booth?

Maybe the solar satellites can double as a baseball cap for the Earth :).
That's "hate" not "have." Yay for no editing.

Thank God for FOSS!
