It means you want the front passenger seat. I believe the term originated in the stage coach days when one person would drive the horses while the other person carried a shotgun (or rifle or something) to ward off hostile folks (Indians, bandits, etc...).
I doubt every manufacturer is as brain-dead as Sony.

Craftsman hand-tools are guaranteed forever, not for life. That means you don't have to show a receipt or anything. Just take the defective tool in and they give you a new one (same model or something similar).
The best solution it seems is to get a car stereo with an aux input. I noticed several at Crutchfield. Then you can use just about any device (iPod, laptop, old tape player, etc...). The only drawback is having to buy a new car stereo...
Do these print ads require a browser upgrade or something?
Yep, you have to get a "tactile" browser with "page turning". The only problem with these print ads is the source of the ad has to be delived via snail mail or purchased from a local store.
I'm not sure how quickly you can install one of these, since you need to alter the elevators and doors to operate on whatever frequency this thing uses.

I use an IOGEAR MiniView USB KVM 2-port switch at work to switch between a PC and Mac. I've been real pleased with it so far. It can be had for $110 (including all cables) at Data Comm Warehouse. Of course, if you need PS2 ports, this model won't do you much good...
I doubt taco will disable anonymous posting for logged-in users. From the FAQ:
Most of the trolls and useless stuff comes from "Anonymous Coward" posters. Have you thought about eliminating anonymous posting?
We've thought about it. We think the ability to post anonymously is important. Sometimes people have important information they want to post, but are afraid to do it if they can be linked to it. Anonymous Coward posting will continue to exist for the foreseeable future.
You're sort of right. The weird shape of your outer ear also plays a very large role in determining where a sound came from.

Thanks for the info. I'm sure the fan is loud because it has to be rather small to fit in the iBook (and turn pretty fast to do any good).
According to this site:
"The current dual USB iBook has no cooling fan at all..."
I couldn't find any info regarding the iBook's cooling fan (or lack thereof) on Apple's site (even tried the ADC docs).
I find it interesting that there are only two days a year when the sun isn't above or below the horizon for the whole day at the north pole.
Go here to see for yourself (input a latitude of 90-00 North into Form B).
My wang is so big it's measured in kilometers: 0.00001564km!
0.00001564km = 0.6 inches
I'm sorry.
Oh yeah?!? Well I got 5.0KB/s! Dialup modems rule!!!
Just curious, where can you get a "decent" barometer or altimeter for only $5?

Doh! It loaded fine, but Mozilla crashed when I tried to close it. Slashdot is ploting against Mozilla!
Loads fine for me reading at +1 (nested) using 0.9.9 on Win2k.
AFAIK, the Airport slot on Macs will only accept an Apple Airport card. The Airport card and PCMCIA cards are not interchangeable.
Or a used Mac for even less... I think it's cool that a computer hardware manufacturer offers such a nice email address for free.
:)
Sort of OT:
It's pretty funny how if you try to sign up for an iTools service on a non-Mac computer, you get this page offering to sell you a Mac...

The dock is probably taking that much CPU time to draw that translucent menu over the updating "top" window...?
The link states Apple is suddenly running print ads emphasizing the Unix core of Mac OS X.
