Find someone with a vagina. It won't hold your geek crap, but suddenly you will notice you won't have such geek-ass problems. Short of that, try a big paper sack.

Indeed. Is the savings of cheap memory and cheaper harddisk worth the cost of the fragility that is shared libs? I would rather have drag and drop apps in a container like OSX as opposed to a jillion libraries to get non-free-codec movies working in mplayer in ubuntu.

You didnt read the article. They said they are using rabbit eggs because getting human eggs in difficult and dangerous to the woman. The scientiscts in question are in China, and I doubt they care what Pat Buchanan says. But nice shot at the "Religous Right," if only to enforce a "Idoit Left."

I had that same problem after a power outage. It was the first problem I had with my G4 733 when I got it (actually, trying to install OSX with the unix file system was first bout, but that was software). I figured it was the power supply, so I tore the beast open, bound and determined to test it by shorting out the two pins on the ATX connector. Coming from the PC world, I figured at worst, I could just pop another power supply in if it was broke. Turns out the power supply isnt ATX, Or at least it didnt look like one. And a replacement was absurdly expensive (compared to an ass one for a pc at least). Then I found that Little Magic Button, pressed it, and all was good with the Mac. No risk of electrocution trying to test the power supply with a paper clip while hoping that the Taiwanese Tech support guy from abit knows his colors in english while shouting from what sounded like a speaker phone in a bus station, just a little magic button.

That wasn't some genius idea of Microsoft. It is a tried and true practice in the console world. Not a bad idea, either. Subsidize the hardware with future software profits, making the hardware affordable, thus increasing userbase, thus inticing software development, and leading (hopefully) to more sales.

I couldnt get 8.0 beta 3 to install either, i too have a scsi card, ill have to try taking it out. Its a tekram 395uw or something. I think if you find something comparing redhat to debian it would mostly aplly to mandrake too, at least for file locations and such. Other than that, how you like mandrake so far?

Speaking of mandrake, cheack out the new mandrakefreq iso. Nice release to tide you over till mandrake 8.0 comes out. I tried the progeny beta and it would lock up during install, so i got that beast, and its quite nice.

NetBsd has a couple of pages too, looks cool, haven't tried it yet. And I just got one of these bastards for christmas.
Anyone else notice how sega is a bunch of cocks when it comes to thier customers. Remember how they just cut the Genesis, and had half assed support for the 32x and SegaCD after like 6 months. And they had they jump on the playstation with the saturn. And the ps2 with the dreamcast. Bastard cocks. Oh well.
