I've had the Gear 2 for a couple of months now and while I still have to carry the phone around in my pocket, I like how the watch buzzes when I get an email/text/call. Instead of frantically digging into my pocket to check an email, the subject pops up on my wrist and I continue on with my day. I'm an early adopter nerd, so I honestly haven't worn the Gear 2 in a month or so. It was cool for a couple of weeks tracking steps and heart rate, but I'm not a huge watch-wearer anyway, so the watch sits on a desk plugged in. A cool thing is when you use the step tracker and/or camera, it automatically syncs when you get back in bluetooth range with the phone.
"...but unless you've spent $300 or more on a fairly recent GPU, you're not going to be able to run the game at sufficiently high detail to benefit from the enhanced image quality and resolution."
What gamer junkie doesn't have a kick ass video card? $300 for a GPU is nothing when you can drop $6-700 USD on the latest and greatest offering.
The radiation didn't kill him... coronary artery disease. So go light on the bacon!
Yeah he lived until 75 years old. Once he got out of treatment he had a few heart attacks (4), kidney and eye issues. TFA read like a horrible process to go through.
I don't think it's hard to be in "the business" without a stupid Facebook page. Aside from a few dummy test accounts, I've been gainfully employed for years without a FB presence. If you really want an online presence, create a blog and post some interesting research, etc. That, IMHO, would be way better than playing Farmville or whatever the FB game of choice is thesedays.
Not only that, the site owner himself solicited a member to kill another because the owner was being extorted for 500K with the release of users' identities.
8 times cheaper for awesome HR bypass material? Count me in! Even if you have a job now, a CS from a pretty well regarded school could give you leverage for a better salary.
If a large company is going to have a layoff they legally must give notice.
OTH, a friend of mine gave notice trying to be nice because she felt loyal to the company and was immediately fired.
Personally, I think if you give notice and they do not give you two weeks pay, then you should be able to be legally counted as fired. They can't both say you quit and ignore your two week period.
I had a co-worker get fired 5 minutes before their shift was up. Stay classy, boss!
I had one boss say I *had* to stay for 30 days, and I'm fairly certain I would have been terminated before then. Also who is to say the employer you're going to work for would want to wait 30 days?
Agree or disagree with what the NSA is doing, Alexander has some set of cojones to speak in front of an unfriendly mob. Hell hath no fury like a room of sweaty nerds!
I don't think Cisco is at fault here. They're not a charity. I blame the poor sap that signed off on the PR.
Of course Cisco is going to try and patch this up as it's generating bad publicity for not doing anything wrong.
Why bother rolling your own? It's like developing your own encryption algorithm - probably a bad idea. A commercial (or open source) forum suite has had way more eyes looking at it than your home-brewed solution. That being said, for $$ vBulletin is good and if you wanna go free, try phpBB 3.0.11.
Was it Coach K or Warren Buffet who said something like, "if you love your job, you never have to work a day in your life". It's hard to find a 'fun' job. There are so many crappy only-work-to-pay-the-bills jobs, a fun one is extremely hard to find. If you're not hurting for money, keep the one you enjoy.
There will never be a game like City of Heroes that allowed you such a level of creativity in bringing the inner superhero to life. I played for 8 years. It will be missed.
Indeed. I played for the better part of 5 years. Man, I loved that game. Sure there was some grinding (especially at the 45+ level), but I never felt so super in a video game. My level 50 tank (fire/ice FTW) could take on a shit-ton of bad guys and not break a sweat. They nerfed the shit out of that build and I slowly lost interest. CoH will be missed, thanks for the awesome memories Paragon.
Since they where caught, and are being tried, apparently someone is watching them.
Caught by the drug runner's stupidity. Dude went down the wrong line, that's how they got snagged. I wouldn't say the TSA "caught" them by their elite skills.
Meh, the day Yahoo! charges for an e-mail is the day I switch e-mail providers. It's not like they are the only free e-mail provider out there, gnome sayin'?
The only issue I have with micro-transactions are that you shouldn't be able to buy game-changing powers/skills. This rewards the sweaty kid in the basement who buys every skill available with his paper route money, while hurting the person who doesn't have the money to buy .
If you could buy shiny stuff that doesn't really affect the game, I'd be more welcome to micro-transactions.
So cops don't beat up perps because they're being watched, interesting. How about the cops learn to control themselves like normal human beings?
Remind me never to work for you, asshole.
Protip: ass to mouth = a2m. Er, or so I hear....

I'm a big fan of Megadeth, but I can't help but wonder what if Mustaine stayed with Metallica.
