The waste heat form oil cooled servers will be used to cook sweet delicious French fries and funnel cakes. Yes friends the server room now has a drive up window. Thanks for choosing Server King.
"But I don't have it I'm not driving what do i need a walking license now. Do I have to take a test to walk down the street in New York now over here".
If they only make $0.70 wouldn't that imply that for the damages of 1.5 trillion from AllOfMP3.com would only be justified if AllOfMP3.com had uploaded over 2 trillion copies of songs to their users?
That would mean if there are 6 billion people in the would that everyone would have had to of downloaded 333 songs. This is not about actual damages and all about putting allofmp3 out of business.
You can get an 8 GB USB flash drives for 100 bucks now on pricewatch. why are these so expensive? I predict that some company will be making kids laptops with small say about 20 GB flash drives 1.5 GHz processers some crippled version of Linux in 3 to 4 years for 150 to 200 bucks. And Flash drives will be dirt cheap next time you blink.
Yes but people can't change cell companies because of ETF (early termination Fee). So if you have a captive audience why not use them to generate more capital. I have been very disappointed in Verizon of late they have been more focused on getting money from then helping there customers. There access charge seems like it is about right but all the extras is where they get you. I really hate paying for text messages. I am one of there customers and I went to there website and told them as such but what i got back was basically a form letter. They do have really great coverage though.
I like it because I don't get pop-ups with FireFox like i did with IE, but that's only because my old computer is addled with spy-ware. My Internet used to go so slow because I got 2-3 pop-ups every time I went to a page but since I switched to FireFox not a one. We'll see how IE version 7 is my new computer crashed for the first while I was installing it so that was pretty bad right off the bat and I couldn't change my homepage in the opening tabs which seems pretty bad to me. I found a fix on the net where you log on in safe mode change the homepage and then restart and it was fixed but that is a lot of work to change my homepage. And yes i still think FireFox is more secure but only because spy-ware doesn't crush it.
I just know that if i get a HD player it will go blue ray and if I get blue ray it'll go HD. This is so stupid they should have a standards board that sets an international standard. And to become a standard a format should have to be open and not owned by Sony or Microsoft. And why the heck do HD and blue ray discs cost twice as much as DVD? Sometimes I think this is all an excuse to raise the price on movies.
We finally have the same technology as the predator monsters from the movies. We could use it for hunting and have little pin sized sensors that pick up inferred light and body heat and direct it back to a special mask that we could wear.
I'd like to have a car that redirects Radar and Laser waves so i never get another speeding ticket. All other forms of light is could ignore. That would be awesome, driving by a cop at 90 and him not even picking you up on his radar gun.
That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. That analogy by Col. Dave Grossman (On Killing, On Combat) is so blind.
If anything I would say we are all wolves. Every man woman and child is capable so much more that he gives them credit for.
How did we get form talking about a lawsuit ant the freedom of information act to Fox News. You Know what they meant when you read DOD. But when Fox News put a D (democrat) next to that child molester (R) Mark Foley's name they were saying he was acting like a democrat. I've seen some of the conservative blogs that were calling Foley a D long before Fox's so-called mistake.
And like the BLOGS it was not a mistake they were making a statement plain and simple. Does anyone really believe that Fox News is independent. They are a PR spin machine for the republicans and a joke when compared to any real news channel. They are the only news channel where you actually get stupider and less informed as you watch.
Sorry for the OT post but I had to respond to that. W
It has been my experience that people goof off most at work when they have nothing else to do.
So what they need to do is find more work for them or fire 50-100 of there full time employees for surfing the net to much and and not replace them, problem solved.
I think it might be better with updated effects just as long as they don't change the music and Shatner's cheesy intro to the show. That is my favorite part of the show. I grew up on the next generation and now i think the old episodes a ten times better
The only problem is that the majority of personal information leaks seem to be form the government in particular the VA is great at losing laptops with large amounts of personal information. And to enact legislation like that would really be shooting themselves in the foot. The government treats you bad because they aren't afraid of losing you as a customer.
It sounds like Paris Hilton is naming planets now. I think the conversation went something like this.
Paris "That Jupiter is totally hot."
Nicole "Yea and the Earth it created is too."
Paris "Yea like, totally."
Nicole "Oh my God, I want to make out with it."
Paris "Yea, that would be totally hot."
Your comments reminded me of a skit I saw on Saturday Night Live about sexual harassment. According to them the key to avoiding sexual harassment suits from female co-workers is to be hot. And when your a dork everything your say to a pretty girl is inappropriate.
There is a different burden of proof for civil and criminal. Criminal is beyond a reasonable doubt (no other suspects). And civil is a Preponderance of the evidence (more that half). So you can be found guilty in civil court and still be found innocent in criminal court.
So criminal court is mostly to punish you for your crimes with jail time or fines. While civil court is mostly to make financial restitution for victims. And it doesn't count as double jeopardy because they are brought by different parties. Criminal cases are brought by the government District Attorney's and civil cases are brought by the the victims who file a lawsuit. So if you wanted to take away the civil/criminal double whammy you would in essence be taking away the rights of victims to claim damages from criminals.
Your entire argument is based on the false assumption that labor policy has made Americans fat and lazy and is the reason China is such a cheap country to produce in. Labor has nothing to do with it China is cheap because China is a poor country. People will work for a couple bucks a day in China because that is the most they have ever made not because they don't have unions. And in fact Americans are not lazy productivity in the good old USA is hitting new highs every year. And companies that were just looking for the cheapest place to produce are moving to India now because the Chinese economy has been growing at 10% a year. So get off you high horse you communist bastard workers have rights too.
We've had the Diebold machines in Georgia since 2002 after that debacle in Florida and according to all the statistics and studies that I've seen Georgia has gone from one of the worst states ranked around 49 regarding voter fraud and miscounted ballots (with 94,000 undervotes in the 2000 election) to one of the best. The machines were instituted state wide and are faster and easier to use in my opinion. With a touch screen you simply press the button with your candidates name and at the end before submitting your ballot you even get a chance to review and make corrections to your ballot. And as an extra measure to prevent fraud the state is even instituting paper reciepts that will be turned in and kept at the polling place in several districts. They aren't perfect but to me at least they seem way better than the alternative. And I can't believe I'm the only one who seems to think voting machines are a good idea. Voting machines are much more accurate, and they are the future. If you want a America where every vote counts this is the way to go.
I know that if they go after her they will lose and that she was well within her right to refuse there request. But that does not mean that she should not have tried to help the police if they have a reasonable reason to see the information.
Protecting the privacy of clients is an important thing but that should not be used as an excuse to protect a criminal. If the police came to my work today and asked for a copy of our customer DB I would flat out tell them no but if they asked to see information on a particular client and had some reasonable reason for requesting that information I would certainly try to work with them. Although I would send the request through one of the company VP's
That is all I'm saying use some common sense and try and help out the police if you can. They are out there trying to protect you every day and the least you can do is try and help them whan it is in your power to do so. Of course if your one of those people who think every cop is corrupt and out to get you, then I understand trying to hinder them at every turn but most of them are good people trying to do what's right. They are not part of some evil Government plot to get you they work for the city not the federal or even the state Government they are just local.
First if the records that organizations collect on me are my property then how do companies sell my info without compensating me. Of course its not mine i did not collect it they did. However much I dislike that fact. You have to protect yourself and your personal info by not giving it out.
Second I did not say that she should give out everyone's records but if the police have a good reason for wanting a particular record she should cooperate. The library policy is a guideline for behavior meant to protect there patrons but those rules must be interpreted and it seems obvious where the library stands on this situation as they were talking about a reprimand and a possible 30 day suspension for her.
I'm with you, sort of, if the police had some good reason for needing the info on a particular person she should have handed it over. Now if the police were just fishing for something and had no particular person in mind than she she did the right thing in protecting the privacy of the library patrons.
And BTW the law protects you from search but it does not say that you cannot hand over info if you think it is needed. And if you do so the police can look at it and use in court it all they want. The law just means they can't break in and steel info or take it by force without a warrent.
If the police had to have a warrent every time they questioned someone or used info in court that was obtained from somebody then no case would ever be solved. We should all pitch in and help when we can. But use a little common sense people don't just give out private info for no reason and "because we asked" is not a reason.
Ancestry.com would be like all we needed was a cheek swab not a blood and semen sample
Now we know why the internet is a series of tubes. Thats how they pump the water.
The waste heat form oil cooled servers will be used to cook sweet delicious French fries and funnel cakes. Yes friends the server room now has a drive up window. Thanks for choosing Server King.
So do you have to take these servers in for oil changes every 3000 miles.
How are they going to enforce this.
Cop "Can I see your license".
"But I don't have it I'm not driving what do i need a walking license now. Do I have to take a test to walk down the street in New York now over here".
