It's not just the amount of field, it's the precision as well. One of the reasons why MRI is so clunky is that you have the main coil and then shim, tesseral, etc. coils to help "fine tune" the fields. Not to mention that the patients load the coils as well.
Exactly. It would only be flamebait if you posted something like :
Mac: Hey PC, what are you doing?
PC: Playing a video game.
Mac: Which one?
PC: All of them.
It would be neat if UltraMon could be extended to have a "half-width maximized" button. They already have one for switching a window to the secondary screen as well as one for making the window span both screens.
One other factor might be native res. I can tell you that having a 19" 5:4 LCD and 22" 16:10 LCD dual-display setup kicks ass and definitely extended the life of my 8800GTS 320MB (when everyone else was moaning about how slow it was pushing Crysis at 1680x1050).
I tried a 36GB Raptor awhile back and the seek noise drove me crazy. Sold it off and got a 250GB WD SE16 instead - didn't really feel that things were slower by much.
Don't know how I lived with 3x 4.5GB Cheetahs with 40mm fan using 5.25" drive coolers back in the day:P
Oh gorram it! I must have missed the memo:(
On an interesting note, you know the people in my department are sad - I saw some chip fab magazine in one of the men's stalls the other day. That takes commitment!:P
I don't know about you, but when I take notes, it isn't just a Xerox of what's on the blackboard/projector screen. It's an amalgamation of both the presented material, what I've pre-read in the reference material and my conclusions/findings/summary of it.
THAT's the way notes should be.
That's why I don't get some people's claims that we're suckling at the American tit. We pay taxes, pay rent / buy property, buy products and services locally, etc.
Can't the same be said about games? I love that gaming has become more mainstream (larger market, more money, better production) but that said...

This is Slashdot. "Scoring" isn't a term in our dictionaries ;)
Actually, you can consider digital circuits as low-pass devices.
Just go read The Silmarillion - excellent creation myth.
Tell me about it. I have 12TBs of storage and its due to run out soon. No, it's not a 12TB spank bank. Yes, you can have my man card :P

Err... hulk smash?
UltraMon. You shouldn't be using multiple displays in XP without it.

Doesn't every modern IGP allow for independent display resolution and refresh rate? Just keep your lappy's screen at 16:10 and your projector at 4:3.
Possibly related to IBM's drives? They did colloborate back in the day.

I'm a depressed engineering grad student you insensitive clod!

Take whatever you said and apply to engineering education as well. The latest batch of undergraduates are startlingly apathetic.

For that matter, they had better bring Yoko Kanno aboard to do the score.
Exactly. You wouldn't say people like Behzad Razavi is stupid, would you? ;)

One need only look to Saltzer and Schroder. That's still pretty damned relevant ;)
No thanks. What happens when you see the exclusive preview benchies of the latest OMGWTFBBQ-edition graphics cards and CPUs? ;)
Err... Bah Weep Granah Weep Ninni Bong?
One PITA in MMICs is the lossy substrate. More conductive = eddy currents = losses.
