we are 2 geeks, i do live broadcasts and upload to YT a lot, and we both watch all media streaming online from various sites/download movies/songs from itunes, roughly 250-300 GB a month, so i tmeans it will costs us like hundreds of $ per month to just do what we do for years
but most of sony artists are to be listened only by deaf people, the music is so crappy and annoying and the autotuned whores that sing over it are so painfull to the hearing people

bit torrent is easy, shows are available about 10 minutes after they air and downaod takes minutes for SD and like 30 minutes for 720p
with vlc there is no codecs to install at all
but not many soundcards are FW800 and USB2 still sucks for realtime audio work compared to firewire(FW being parallel opposed to serial protocol really helps with multi audo channels)
and i have yet to see a dv cam with usb2(or final cut even recognising a usb device )
