Find the slope of the tangent to the graph of y=3x^2 at x=1, using limits, the slope of the secant line, and the forumla lim (as h->0) ???? / 1+h-1. Draw picture to illustrate the steps.
if it's done right, a 'relaxed' work environment can be a win-win for both employers and employees. it's a pretty touchy balance though. some companies spend more time nerfing than they do working, and usually end up failing.
It's clear that workers would prefer to telecommute, so why aren't businesses allowing them to do so?
It's also clear workers would prefer to spend all day getting lapdances and drinking beer.
Whethere it's a reasonable fear or not, the reason employees hesitate on telecommuting is that they're simply worried about productivity.
For example, an employer might think a task requires a lot of work and time, when in fact, being a skilled, hard-worker, you can do it in a third the time. If you were in the office, they could probably pick up on this and adjust your duties to fill your time. If you're at home, they don't have a direct idea of how your time is being spent.
A few months ago my cable ISP (@home canadian spin off cable) was hit fairly hard by some script toddlers (kiddies is a *little* too mature for the behavior) and my IP was blackholed. When I phoned them to get it turned back on they complied but wrung me out for "spurring on attacks on IRC or chat programs". They actually warned me if it happend again they'd have to look into some sort of action...
I was really pissed, there wasn't anything I could really do about it. I can understand an ISP's need to protect themselves, but instead of targetting the victim, maybe they should put resources into better filtering and tracing (which is usually useless:\)
Erm, Did you mean to say Ender's Game is a Matrix rip off? (I might've read it wrong) First of all, Enders Game is much older than the Matrix, and if any movie has every ripped off anything its the matrix (see: dark city, countless other films/books)

this f.irst p.ost is brought to you by ZXYLITION!
Ha? Worst pun ever.
heh. I can do it the way you described (I know my derivation laws), but you've gotta do with a secant line and a graph. How remedial! Ugh!
thanks, but seriously, try it and post a jpeg!
