  13. The Telcos should have asked for warrants... on Wiretap Ruling Threatens Telecoms · · Score: 2, Insightful

When you put this into perspective plain and simple the Telcos were wrong to go along w/ this. The Bush Administration came to them and said we want to tap your hubs. The first thing that should have come to mind for the telcos was is this legal. The second thing that should have come to mind is that they have an obligation to their customers FIRST. You know the people paying them for service? Third, they should have thought about the 4th amendment to the constitution and the first amendment on which their services rely heavily.

The fact is that they were completely complicit in these actions. They probably didn't even submit it to their lawyers or if they did their lawyers said well if anyone sues us we'll argue that we were told by the government, etc.

Remember they also aren't just tapping phones they are analyzing and filtering ALL of the data that passes through the ATT switches...IE EVERYONE!

This administration and the companies cooperating in warrantless eavesdropping are guilty of the biggest constitutional offense in US history...the baffling part is that they openly admit it as though it were legal and / or ok.

Impeachment NOW! Don't wait until the rest of the amendments have been violated.

  15. Console games are pirated less??? PLEASE!! LMAO on Piracy Killing PC Gaming? · · Score: 1

Cmon...visit any torrent site and the PS2 and PSP games are the top of the list. The argument that console games can't be pirated or are pirated less is a joke. On a different note, marketing games once they are finished and delaying the release date is done at the creator's expense...with some exceptions. Before the xbox 360 came out there was tons of game marketing for that system, but there was also very little incentive to pirate at that time because the console wasn't on the market yet...why release a pirated version that no one can play right? In short if a game is "good" it will market itself. Delaying the release date of a finished game to "create demand" is a business/marketing model that is outdated and failing. Considering the fact that most pre-released pirated games come from store employees that have had the game in the back room for WEEKS, is it really any surprise that one of the boxes gets cracked open a few days/weeks early?

IMO after 10 years EVERYTHING should be public domain. Hell they give it away over the airwaves in the first place for free. Just because someone isn't getting the $$ they used to won't make me care. Your defense of a bunch of rich pricks w/ fancy pieces of paper amuses me.
