    Pass, Keepass, Xkeepass and so on, all do the same obvious thing. Just like a physical key ring, they allow you to lose all your keys at the same time.

    Multiple questions never work when you deal with spooks. If the answer to any part of the question is no, then they will simply answer no.

    It can be very annoying when you work with spooks. They will look you carefully in the eyes, consider what you asked and and after a few seconds answer with a one liner, that never actually tells you anything.

    Well, any kind of high availability system should run on a UPS, no matter what kind of disk drives they use. In my experience, any cheap computer will run continuously 24/7/365 for 4 years or more, provided that it is on a UPS.

    Breakwater design has changed a lot over the centuries. The primary design will deflect the waves using a heavy earth and rock embankment. Over time, it was found that an embankment made from irregular rocks or concrete castings work better than regular cubes. You could call that a meta material if you want, but it is simply a smart way to combine deflection and interference with the waves to achieve the desired smoothing effect.

    GUI tools work fine while everything works the way it is supposed to. However, real life problems require one to read the error messages and those one can frequently only see on the command line.

    "Heat Pumps don't work when it's below freezing." They do if they are done right. A heat pump hooked to a water well, works best in cold climes.
