  1. Re:Lies, Damn Lies and Statistics on Interest in CS as a Major Drops · · Score: 1

I'm not talking about an intership, CO-OP or other short term thing. A full fledged project with real, tangible consequences.

Co-ops are short term? I've co-oped for 7 semesters...written thousands of lines of code on 3 different projects (all of which are being used daily). I worked on one of those projects for 2 or 3 years until it became something fairly impressive, and is an integral part of my department's operations.

2 semesters ago I did Senior Design, which is what you're talking about...a company (or professor, in my case) needing a piece of software, and a group planning and implementing it from the ground up. It was a useful class, but pales in comparison to my co-op experience.

It's not like "I'm a serious rapper," it's "I'm going to be funny and rap about boba fett and friendster and getting beat up by the cool kids and make references to Reggie and the Full Effect and Weezer." It's definitely dork humor, and is quite excellent. Also you should buy the aqua teen hunger force dvds if you haven't yet, it's almost the only reason i'll turn on a tv.

not gonna look up the lyrics at the moment, but one gem from "White Kids Love Hip-Hop" is a shoutout "to my nilla wiggas/packing peters measured in millimeters"

"just copy and paste it like adobe photoshop"

Store music in a centralized file store? No, thanks. Give me audiolunchbox over an "mp3beamer" any day. I <3 192kbit mp3 downloads where the artists actually get paid.

not to mention that audiolunchbox actually has GOOD artists instead of mainstream drivel...a few I like: Interpol Noise Ratchet The Anniversary .hopesfall. Hot Water Music Grade ...the list goes on and on, and I don't really like a lot of different music. They give you zip file downloads of whole cds, with included cover art...ogg files on a lot of cds...

anyway, something to check out. I'm not a shill for ALB, just a fan.

However, it was cheaper than my 3650 (which I got for $300 with $300 in rebates) while being basically the same phone (minus a camera that I never use) and it actually has some good games. Tony hawk is good, tomb raider isn't bad for some nostalgia, and rayman 3 is excellent, as all rayman games are. Even my old series 60 favorite Bounce is easier to play...the screen is brighter and nicer.

I know the "system" never caught on and prolly never will, but for somebody who needs a phone and occassionally would like to kill a few minutes with a game, it's really quite excellent.

The fact that you can lvl and branch out as an artisan seperate to your fighting profession just doubles the fun.
