The hacks came after what sony removed the other os feature. If the hack only re-enables the other os feature, then sony's actions cost them nothing and gains them the ability to void out the warranty for anyone that re-enables this feature.

Same here. I even compiled it after trying the hexxeh binary in the hope that hexxeh had somehow disable the cool part of chromeos.

I really like all of google's products and really wish I could afford an android phone, but the chromeos is very disapointing.

I prefer jolicloud if I need to live in a cloud.

That said, I can see this being useful in setting where everything is internet based apps (like a library or kiosk.) I imagine the hardware requirements would be real low.

I guess only billionaires know what is best for the common good?

The term "common good" is consistently used for the majority to force their will on someone. This is not acceptable even when the person is rich. Restrictions usually start against with unpopular groups before branching out to everyone.

Would you be OK with your money going to a pro-life group? Would you be OK with it going to a pro-choice group?

A pro-life person would not want their money in any way assisting in murdering an innocent child. A pro-choice person does not believe that abortion is murdering a child and would not want their money in any way assisting in restricting a woman's right on her own.

I think that was his point. I agree with you, though, that these attacks are not in anybodies best interests. This will more likely make companies more careful about supporting sites like wikileaks to begin.
