Because cayenne8's comment is one step removed from the typical slashdot bullshit post about how free markets are shit and government should regulate everything related to business.
The stupid thing is that the websites just give Facebook the free space without getting anything in return. FaceBook has a free ad on every single page that sites display the Like button on, and all the site gets is the chance that the user will add it to their list of liked things, and maybe--if the stars align--their addition will be reflected in someone else's feed and make it go viral.
This is mutual advertising. I understand why sites add the like and share this buttons.
I know people see the stuff I mark liked because I have lost "friends" over it:)
When I read statements like this, I realize how out of touch most radical liberals are. (I guess any radical group is out of touch but no other group seems as sanctimonious.)
Your comment is the equivalent of me complaining that Regan and Bush were too far left since they did not pass rightist agendas in exactly the way that I wanted them to (not to mention compromising and passing liberal agenda items as well.)
So if McDonalds decides that it doesn't want to sell coke any more nobody gives a shit. But if Apple decides not to host the iCoke app, then anyone who wants it for their iphone can't get it.
Now, McDonalds does have total control over the BigMac... but its their own product. So they have the right to decide to make it unavailable. Why exactly does apple have the right to make the iCoke app which they didn't make unavailable?
When I go to a movie theater, I have to buy their popcorn and drinks (or hide my food in my wife's purse.) They have chose to make something unavailable to me that they do not produce.
I like it better the way it is now. There are ppas out there for most apps if you want newer versions. This gives each user control on what apps they consider non-essential enough to risk an upgrade for.
You don't think that "The comparison between the swastika and the war on Afghanistan/Pakistan and Iraq" was supposed to be a comparison of the Germans in WW II to the US in Afghanistan/Pakistan and Iraq?
I certainly read the post the same way stewbacca did.
What do you think he was comparing the Afghanistan/Pakistan and Iraq war to that involved the swastika?
Level load times are definitely faster but the game start up is slower as every company's logo that touched the game is displayed one-by-one for 5 seconds.
Is there a way to stream Netflix under Linux yet (aside from in a VM?)
If you count Roku there is. Is there a way to stream to Desktop linux? Not yet. (Well, I guess you can use playon but that is about as useful as a VM since you still need windows running somewhere)
Minimum wage has almost doubled since the mid-90s. Prices have to go up to pay the people doing the labor so those making minimum wage
The problem is, people making more than minimum wage has not seen their wages double. I always cringe when I see the minimum wage go up because I know my il will soon be costing me more.
Compromise would be give and take. The republicans were given a chance to **add** to a bill they could not agree with.
If I passed a bill outlawing motor vehicles and then allowed you to add to that law - but only additions I agree with, - would you consider that a real attempt at compromise?
Why didn't he do this during the past two years if you believe it was that important? Surely they can walk and chew gum at the same time?
Did it occur to you that they waited until they knew it would fail to bring it to vote?
He is still trying to figure out how to fit it into his "car in a ditch" metaphor.
How about an anti-theft system that, when it detects tampering, it disconnects the communication equipment and throws on 10,000 volts?
I want something like that in the Rio Grande

And microsoft does allow Corporations to side load app's. if you know who to ask...
You mean Jeff @ ext 54342? Yeah, he's great!

I would think the question is, why am I forced to limit my selections to the App Store?
You made that choice when you bought it. It is why I do not buy one.
I'd heard that with the advent of voice synthesizers and computers, Braille was going out of favor.
I am not saying you are wrong, but most people I know that read still prefer to read versus listening to audio books.
The interface just isn't conductive to playing a game in 3 dimensions at least it doesn't seem that way to me.
People said (and still say) the same about the game-pad controller versus a keyboard and mouse.

You've never visited Nannychusetts, have you? State motto: "We're not happy until you're not happy."
As long as everybody is equally unhappy, then things are fair. What would be unfair is for certain people to be happy when others are not.
It is easier to force everyone down a level then try to give people the means to raise themselves a level.
Since people are so envious of what others have, this also gives the ones taking happiness a power base.
The difference should be newer versions of apps and kernels.
Stable typically only gets bug fixes.

I know people that are going to buy the black one once they get their ponus to match their xbox 360 and ps3

He also thought that gnome could/should switch to qt4

I don't know. Ubuntu has managed to get KDE and Gnome to adjust their release cycles to every 6 months. I am guessing that Ubuntu has a lot of sway

Yes I have and that it is pretty difficult was exactly my point.
Raising the minimum does not make it easier to live on minimum wage. Getting a better job is the better solution.
Raising the minimum wage only succeeds in making non-minimum wages worth less.

Yeah. And Bush was further left than Kennedy and Harry Roosevelt.
And blue is green and up is down...
Only a complete sociopath would be against most of what is in there.
Extremest comments like this really help destroy the debate and bi-partisanship needed to have real improvements done for our healthcare.
