Now are they going to reimburse the owners of the device for the removal of a feature that was advertised when they bought it...?? If I remember right another company (Sony and the other os feature if you didn't know) did that once and there was an outrage (for some). Not that the GPS is a major feature but removing it after it is released and in the customer's hands detracts from the value of the product.
Fox News is often full of abusive language towards the President. Can we ban them?:)
Not only is this not funny, nor informative, but shockingly dangerous.
Suggesting we ban press outlets is decidedly anti-American, whether you personally consider them of any value or not. Change the channel, not the law.
I believe you misunderstood that comment. I don't think he was actually saying that we should ban Fox News from the US. Instead I think he meant that the government cannot ban Fox for saying anything they don't agree with so why should they be able to ban this kid.
My Uncle is a lawyer, you insensitive clod! -- Fixed that for you.
That statement doesn't make any sense considering the parent comment was in no way making fun of lawyers.
If this passes and it makes health care mandatory doesn't that hurt the economy. This bill is going to cost the people about 1.5 trillion dollars. Forcing employers to insure their employees is going to hurt small businesses and may even bankrupt them which in turn will cause a loss in jobs. What about the people that will be forced to get a health care plan that in the governments eyes can afford it but in reality can't and on top of that with 1.5 trillion coming from tax paying citizens they are being hit twice once for paying for their insurance and again for the people who can't.
Not quite. There are still alot of songs that have drm and if you have bought songs earlier with drm they charge $.30/song to get the non drm version for those that are available.
I'm sorry but this is exactly why these things are allowed to pass. Just because there is a minor positive side to it doesn't mean it should be allowed since it has major issues with privacy plus it is also making you pay for something you have already paid for. One more thing is that privacy is one thing I want to hold on to for as long as possible and even longer if that is possible even if illegal to do so.
It would be nice to see this work on an Openmoko phone. It seems that alot of people have complained about the current interface and this would give people another option (if it is implemented properly). Even if it doesn't work at first it may inspire someone else to do it better considering it is opensource.
It may be similar to sudo but it is way more annoying. For example when you go to delete a file in Vista it will ask you if you are sure you want to delete it like windows normally does. Then the UAC pops up and basically asks you if you are sure that you are sure you want to delete the file. Linux never does that, at least not for the distros that I use. Yes, in Linux you may need to sudo/su as root to install an app but it is the same way in XP. If you have an actual limited user you cannot install apps unless you use runas or login as an administrator, but Vista takes it one step further. The UAC will still pop up even if you are logged in as administrator.
Yeah and the cool thing about this phone is that it can act as a USB master so if you have a digital camera you can just plug it into the phone and upload your images without a computer.
The Neo1973's mini-USB port can be configured to act as a usb host instead of a usb device. This opens up a range of possibilities, such as USB cameras and usb input devices.
Thats for the Neo1973 but it should also be true for the FreeRunner.
I currently have an Alienware m7700a laptop with a Nvidia Geforce Go 7900GTX in it that has been in its laptop case for the last two months because the video card fried it self less than a month out of warranty. It's going to cost me $600 dollars to fix it, but now that I know that it will just do it again eventually I'm not sure it is even worth it. What pisses me off is that I spent ~5k on this laptop.
What would you have proposed that they did instead?
Provide 100% DRM-FREE MP3s which would allow you to use any MP3 player. They would make alot more money that way . Even if they charged 10 cents more there would be people buying them just for the ability to use them on any device without having to circumvent the DRM.
I would love to see them try to wiretap or put cameras in my house. It would be soo funny. Even if they could do it I think they would have some trouble getting any information.

We get two feet and it only makes local news because the school busses probably couldn't run that day.
Your lucky then cause if we get four feet of snow in one night school is only delayed 2 hrs at the most some times it will still be on time.

Anyone see the episode of Eureka when everyone started to become stupid from eating artificial chicken...

Your government paid for the road you're using in the first place though...
Yes, and where did the government get this money in the first place hmmmm...
The Ice Stone has melted!
Even if that wasn't the case this device and OS was announced Jan. 8th 2009 at CES.
Looks like the webserver got bombed. Here is the cached site as of the 25th of October. Google Cache: http://209.85.173.104/search?q=cache:d-yiI5QQzfQJ:www.optoma.co.uk/PicoIndex.aspx+http://www.optoma.co.uk/PicoIndex.aspx&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=us&client=firefox

Forgot to say that I do know that the card I have is not using either of those two architectures.
