Of course, what is labeled as unjust is a matter of opinion. This makes all punishments unjust in one way or another and all we do is go around forever.
As someone who just earned a couple of Masters degrees in business for an insane price tag, I recommend that you exercise caution when transitioning careers. Breaking into a new field that is more of a passion project than one that is in demand is just brutal. Unless you are financially set and don't need the income, a transition could wreck you financially. The absolutely insane cost of graduate school cannot be understated and needs to be weighed against any advancement you may experience through it. It is massively easier to have a career track inside of a company that supports you rather than doing it on your own.
Tying desktop usage to gaming may be misleading. As e-sports become more popular and the purses become bigger, an OS that is tuned to provide low latency, high frame rates, and zero lag will become more of a necessity. The OS that powers this may not have to be a desktop OS.
Did read it. "(the OS not the kernel, as opposed to Android which is a different is with a Linux kernel) " OS was not defined here as android is an OS that runs on Linux. Do we have to assume all of the other components of the OS here? Which distribution is that referring to? In that case, the argument is ambiguous to take into consideration.
It also works as a cell-phone OS (android), a television OS (ruku TV), a router OS (pretty much all of them), it's almost taken over education (Chromebooks), and embedded (Raspberry PI). Calling it a "server OS and a workstation OS" in 2018 is just plain wrong.
To diss Linux, we need to limit the perspective to only PC gamers. Thanks to Valve (Steam), cross-platform engines, and Vulkan; games supporting Linux are more numerous than ever before and the future looks even better. With all of these factors in play, it is reasonable to think that Linux gaming will be worth it in the the future.
I've been trying to do something similar for a long time at home. The closest I came was using gramofon devices with AllPlay. They were driven by a rooted cell phone with an Android app call AirAudio. It works some of the time. It's disappointing that we don't have a better option. I usually try for a while and then give up and just use bluetooth to one output.
I have a question about this. Do corporations have to report the money they are spending and the position they are taking with regard to political issues? It would be bad business to alienate half of your potential customers by endorsing a political candidate.
If we based our view of humanity by only looking at the times where there was peace, it would be a biased view. This movie does exactly that. Therefore, it is biased.
You're right, the movie hinted that there was conflict. It never actually showed any of it occurring though. This makes the native population look good.
Looking at the flip side, the goodness that the humans did, such as the school and providing jobs for their people, where only hinted at and never shown. This makes the humans look bad.
Avatar wasn't just displaying a particular message. It did it in a biased and unrealistic way. For example: the Na'vi seldom, if ever, had a civil conflict in the movie that was not a direct result of the corporate occupation. One of them died of old age, but every other action that caused pain was due to sky people.
Sometimes there is a burden of intent that has to be proven out.
For example: a student violates the internet usage policy at their school and uses the "It was an accident" defense.
Riddle me this... WHY WOULD YOU WANT to be "conservative"? Why would you be resistant to change? Why would you choose not to be open-minded to the fact that your way may not be the best?
Because change doesn't always mean you are changing to something better. Especially when the reasons for the change are suspect and often hidden from the public.
Most of the comments here are quite negative towards Mr. Thompson. He is actually a very impressive person. I suggest people who have decided to base their judgment of him on the company he ran watch the episode of CEO Exchange with him in it.

I was reading a Microsoft EULA yesterday and saw something about this. Basically, it said that you were entitled for damages for up to US $5. It's most likely not worth the lawyer fees.
The mispronunciation of Ubuntu and Gnome wasn't very flattering either. He also logs in as root and runs startx. Not to pick on the guy, but he really doesn't seem to know Linux that well.
Probably the biggest issue I've had with being left handed are those fill in the blank tests where the blanks are to the right of the question. When a lefty such as myself goes to fill in the blank, the question is covered by my arm and hand. This makes it easy to loose focus and fill in an answer for another question. It's also impossible to put your pencil on the answer that you believe to be right and then re-read the question without moving your pencil. Another issue I have is touchpads. It's hard for a left-handed user to reach accross the pad and use the verticle scroll on the right side.
Cups from fast food restaurants tend to collapse in your hand if this is attempted. The lid is a structural necessity.
Steam OS was a casualty? https://store.steampowered.com... Steam Machines perhaps? https://www.polygon.com/2018/4...

The title of these posts is Dances with Smurfs. It is a play on the title of a movie, "Dances with Wolves". It is a movie about American Indians.

No. I'm saying that if you want to parallel the Na'vi with American Indians, you are comparing apples with oranges.

There are a lot more fun things you can do to get 20 years. I think they should get some punishment, but 20 years?

I would rather be able to spend time with my family without a set time schedule and a guard watching.
