it's the fact that we as a society are producing people who go out into their neighborhoods and do such things. I don't hear anybody proposing a solution for that.
The "pay attention" rationale doesn't hold water since they're not preventing people reading paper books or the newspapers they sometimes give out when you board.
Books and newspapers typically do not feature headphones. To me, it seems much easier to say "put away all electronic devices" rather than try to hash out a list of exceptions.
hate to reply to self, but just found out that you have to click the mbeta link to see it on iPad... I assumed it would pick up the agent and redirect since the summary says "launched."
I probably don't understand what "launched" means, though.
has circumcision ever been shown to be linked to something harmful?
Ask my penis. Specifically, ask my penis about the part that went missing 36 years ago.
Or, consider this:
In the matter of circumcision of newborn males, it must be recognized that the child is normal as born, and that circumcision inflicts loss of a normal body part and leaves a scar. This is contrary to the motto of medicine which is "First, do no harm. "
We've all been there. You're at a dinner party of gathering and introduced to a new acquaintance. As the conversation develops you rattle through a list of topics - food, movies, music, TV... and that's when your new 'friend' drops the bombshell. You ask if they're following Game of Thrones or the new season of Mad Men. They reply, 'I don't have a TV', acting as though this is a point of social pride.
Okay so the scenario doesn't always play out quite like that. Sometimes people will say they "don't watch much TV" or "don't have time for TV" - but the insinuation is still the same. These are busy people leading busy lives and don't have time for all that trash on TV. After all they're far too cultured to waste their time on that grubby little device. Ugh!
Even if people just walked around with the most current and popular content being automatically synced across portable devices it could be the endgame for content providers.
And, one might argue, an endgame for content, too. The counter-argument to which is usually something along the lines of smaller, independent content creators rising up to fill the void. Just remember, those guys aren't always what's "most current and popular..."
Interesetingly, this is also another typical anti-LE karma-grabbing post.
You weren't there. The only information you have is what was in the article, which states that contact was made at several homes in an attempt to locate the phone. You have no clue as to the contents of those contacts or any way of accurately quantifying the competence of the officers involved.
Now, 10 cops for a missing cell phone... you could call that obnoxious -- at the very least! Competence is not an issue here, though.
Not sure if my sarcasm detector is broken, but when you go popping a bunch of holes in your body, pay close attention to your marrow's inability to manufacture enough new blood to keep up with gravity's demand of placing your blood all over the floor.
I think my sarcasm detector is busted, though I'm gonna post the above anyway since I put a fair amount of thought into it...
Just a guess, but they're probably not entirely different than the requirements for a TWIC Card, also issued by the TSA to gain access to secure areas such as maritime ports, refineries, and other "sensitive" locations.
I do have a TWIC card. It's always interesting (scary?) when I present the federal credential to a TSA agent at an airport. Although the TWIC card provides no access to airport facilities, it is a valid form of government ID issued by the TSA, Most agents are familiar with it, but one agent, after checking my boarding pass and waving me on asked me "what is this TWIC thing, anyway?"
For what it's worth, the term you're looking for is Upper Decker.

Stop producing so many people. You're welcome.

nothing different on iPad compared to the regular site... except, the OBNOXIOUS pop-up banner ad thing at the bottom.
Seriously? Thanks for that.
> And how exactly do you propose this should work?
Don't track in the first place?
You missed this part:
"from the obvious-witticisms-are-obvious dept."
Or, one of these...
floppy notcher

Yes, but... at whose expense?
As long as it is legitimate oppression. Because the woman's body has a way to just shut the whole thing down and deal with the oppression.
So they'll be fine. Everything will work out fine.
According to MacRumors, Apple will provide an adapter.

Yes, I realize its a "rumor" site.
Literal interpretation is literal.
Mod story Troll.
Is the purpose of this story a mystery to anyone. It's like ad TV reruns...
Excuse me, but it was the police who published the home address of the photographers. So, yeah, ummm.. yeah.
You don't live in NYC, but don't feel left out! Copy-cat policies are on their way to a city near you!

Never mind the fact the iPhone has sold over 100 million units...

Whoosh...

It's not about him actually being treated unfairly, it's about him feeling as though he has been.
No.
