Not being able to resell such software is bullshit though. They only get away with it on PCs because you've always had to install it. Console discs are no different than a movie or music disc or even a book. Blocking resale of this stuff should be criminal.
Yeah, that's it. Just like all this tripe about the country being broke. Life is good in the USA for the most part still (way too good for some). Far far above what the rebels in these countries had been facing everyday. Attempting to equate these situations is a joke.
Come on...the original Tron was a vehicle for special effects too. Oh ha ha, you're a Bit, aren't you? Literary masterpiece! It was a good movie because of the effects, combined with a passable script.
Need those jobs... My mail keeps the city recycling guys employed too. I rarely get any real mail, but every day I have to go to my box, take out a wad of trash and stuff it all in the recycling bins.
There's no 'we' about it. Just like ancient Rome, the economy has been completely captured by a tiny percentage of the population that will run everything into the ground in order to maintain their own wealth and profits.
I don't know, that's easy to say when you pick out one relatively short timespan as 'what this country was built on'. The dismantling of other cultures seems more accurate. So many the nativity vandals are keeping it old-school and true.
I realize it could put certain individuals in harms way (hopefully any such names were redacted before the dump), but I hope Wikileaks keep this up. There's far too much secrecy going on around the world. It's all one big self-fulfilling prophecy in which nobody trusts each other and everybody is forced to keep a gun under the table. Anyone that is angry about this for nationalistic reason is a tool.
Of course, these leaks could be baloney psy-ops, which is real a possibility. That's a scary scenario and in the complete opposite direction of what it's presenting itself as.
That's not very imaginative. The horizontal screen could show a keyboard in default position when untouched, but when it detected palms down first it could automatically reorient.
Too big to fail... I think that's a load of BS. Businesses come and go. We're supposed to be a mobile workforce. It's not the end of the world to have to find a new job (unless unemployment keeps getting stomped on). If BP has been meeting some level of demand and then suddenly went away, wouldn't that would create new jobs elsewhere as new and existing entities try to fill the demand gap?
Exactly. We in the other half spent 8 years saying the same about Bush. It's like the whole thing is rigged to flip-flop every 8-12 years, just enough to keep each side in fighting spirits and everyone distracted away from that top 1-2%.
Well he holds up the test-bank questions early in the video, saying a student anonymously dropped it in his mailbox. That seems like plenty proof enough the results are tainted.
So you think this is about you (the end-user)? This is about corporations capturing the internet and creating monopolies. The haves are always hard at work stifling any avenues of upward mobility. It's still relatively easy for a group of nobodies to create the next internet sensation. That's no good.
We're in debt because taxes have been cut far too drastically over the last couple decades. Wealthy people have been buying their way into office, cutting taxes and then acting all surprised when there's not enough money to pay for even the most basic public services. Their solution, of course? Cut services. Fuck the tired and poor - we got ours. High taxes made the U.S. what it is (social security, interstates, medicare, space ships).
The only thing eating other animals accomplishes in a civilization like ours is personal pleasure. It hasn't been a necessity for a very long time. Choosing meat for your meals is just as psychotic as slitting the throat of another animal for fun.
Are you saying congressional districts have a ceiling?

Didn't you see the headline? You don't have to read anything, just be outraged as a techie!

The pope hasn't done anything besides wear his silly costume and feed people's paranoid delusions.

...but the taxes! We have to lower the taxes... We need the wealthy to have plenty of cash on-hand to make this a better world for us all.
What a sad state of affairs when these are the kinds of people so many in the country want to be in charge.
I don't know, that's easy to say when you pick out one relatively short timespan as 'what this country was built on'. The dismantling of other cultures seems more accurate. So many the nativity vandals are keeping it old-school and true.
Too bad real politicians and generals are at least smart enough to just continue lying and never stop saying no.
So how long until the first genetic piracy article on Slashdot?
Yeah, somebody needs to update the script that generates these posts... You know, the lighter version of the script that writes these books.

These book reviews are consistently the most useless things posted here. I hope Slashdot is getting a decent chunk of change for it at least.

Yeah, really. So very disingeuous.
