Live music. Just like every anti-RIAA Slashdotter has been telling the pro-RIAA Slashdotter for years now. The idea is that your music should be so awesome that people will pay to see it played live anyway, even if it's also available as an MP3.
Of course, different orchestra...e? also have a different sound and a different interpretation of the way they should play each song.
The battle won't be won because stupid people insist on running Windows and running every attachment mail their way and every pirated software they get from warez sites.
Funny, that. I'm a Windows XP user, and I download quite a bit of questionable software but I haven't had any virus for the last couple of years. The problem is not with Windows, the problem is with stupid people. A bit of education would easily reduce the size of botnets a lot.
The dutch government allows for limited self-defense, but AFAIK our government is considered to have a monopoly on violence or force or something. It's been a long time since I read about it though, and it was in a highschool economics textbook.
Equally good at everything, but not equal to other adventurers of the same level. He probably lacks quite a few stats and maybe a level or two because of his choice of race, but he has some cool gimmicks from being physically strong.
The candy is actually candy. Also, it is verifyably non-toxic. Mostly. Do not listen to these other robotic voices. Don't you recognize me? I'm shocked. Take some candy and we'll talk. Talk and talk more. No killing. I would never do that.
If the light could both be from the mechanical AND the biological side, you'd have quite a bit of confusion. You want different kinds of signals for input and output.
You'll want to check out the Infinity: Quest for Earth combat prototype. It's free, and it's about all you can see of what the rest of the game will be like eventually.
The engineers and designers involved could just as well be part of the "nerd population" referred to by the GP and GGP. After all, they also spend ages learning things that are obscure and strange to the rest of the world, and they also work on a large part of any technological progress we have. And they get paid quite a lot for applying those skills.
And yes, in a pinch I could recognize my oil tank and probably fill it up, although I've never had to. I'd need to do a bit of research before adding a turbo to my engine or replacing the gearbox though, but I can't imagine a situation where I'd need to do those without internet access and plenty of spare time.
You fool. I don't just use ANY PIN number: I use my personal PIN number on those nifty automated ATM machines! Then I use that money to buy a MASSIVE MMORPG game and some extra RAM memory so my CPU unit isn't constantly putting stuff on the SDD drive. Gee, I hope my video card can handle all those CG graphics...
*cough* Alright. I'm done. Strike me down, so that I may become stronger than you could ever imagine. Or mod me up. Your pick.
Plenty of data processing could be parallelized to GPU style code, I'll bet. As long as you've got enough data that needs enough processing, you can probably get a speedup from that. Just how much, is another question..
Actually, it's not that bad on systems that have their own DRM included.. IF they don't need to transfer the DRM-infested material to normal computers, that is. I recently bought Dragon Age for the PS3, knowing that the built-in DRM would not screw me over too badly. The risk would be far greater if I'd bought it for the PC though.
I'm still beating myself up for trying Settlers again though... bleh. Piracy on DRM-enabled software is more difficult, but often easily worth it simply because you don't risk losing your game or not being able to play it when you want. I hear Settlers pauses when you lose your connection, and guess just what genre of game I turn to when my internet connection dies?... Okay, I'd turn to Dwarf Fortress first. But you know what I mean!
I'd just like to add one justification that does work: - I've already bought it but don't feel like infecting my computer with some company's malware, by actually installing it from cd. And DRM is more likely to infect my computer than warez nowadays thanks to Sony BMG and others.

Enter drive-by-wire. I can't wait!
And thus, there shall be no backup!

Which brings me to my next realization....
... You can only win by zerg rushing the botnet?
I just went back to the article to look for any excuse to buy it. Too bad it's Mac-only, I don't even have an iPod let alone a Mac.

I'ma take that with a grain of salt..
i have read your post
and i see what you did there
fall down some stairs please
That's simply because they get confused between "a job you love doing" and "a job you love the idea of doing", I think.

You mean thousands of people with wildly varying ideas of what your illness could be? Why, Google, of course!
It's hardly like any of the designers on 99designs have a professional background. If they did, they wouldn't go back to being unsure of a paycheck.

I'll write a macro to click it for me so I don't have to read!

In Soviet Russia, joke wonders where YOU went!
True, but it's still funny to quote. And that's probably why it'll stick around forever.
You'd be surprised when the aliens land and scold us for our user-unfriendly touchscreens!

Yes. Just like we still doubt that anybody ever should need more than 640K.
