  1. Safer Routers? Make 'em here! on Norton Announces Core, a Smart Router To Protect Domestic IoT Devices (cnet.com) · · Score: 1

The fact that there are practically no routers made in the USA is unnerving to me. Any attempt to make one here, makes me feel better. (At least someone tried!) We need security and control over routers, software and the hardware on our own soil. I personally experienced a lot of joy in 1997 when the WWW opened up. It was fantastically safer place to be before the malicious idiots came on to wreck it with Worms, Trojans, Root kits, Zombie bots, and the like. Plus it didn't have a lot of garbage you had to rummage though before you could find something substantial. It now also contains false/misinformation because some of the people publishing the page had a motive to gain profit from it. Critical thinking, comparison, seeing the source before you read it, and sound judgement are essential to get to the truth these days.

Indeed! We really don't have just one brain. We already know that the spine itself reacts like a brain and near your solar plexus is a junction of nerves that processes more information. The eyes pre-process and sort information before it ever gets near the brain. Unfortunately I haven't researched it for years and retroactive amnesia has set into my brain.

Thank you, sexconker! Ancient cars used to have controls with unique shapes and different types of control movement: The objective was to never take you eyes off the road while you drive, using your brain for tactile feedback.. I personally feel that the first person who makes a small phone with buttons will be very successful with the older crowd.. They like simple, get to the point, no frills stuff. Hey, if I want a computer, I got one at home. Also we have Libraries, Coffee houses, Restaurants that carry Wi-Fi, Hotels, and Colleges you can stop by. Call and make a list of Car Dealerships that carry Wi-Fi - they have waiting rooms.

  4. I did a "neutral" search - (Russia and IP addresses). The only thing I got was an offer to mask your IP address. Nothing negative. So.. Words are what you use when you want to start a fight with someone. Wars start that way too. Miscommunication, antagonizing, and vilifying are all the first step to start a war. Remember the "Axis of Evil" said by a famous person. Well.. Stuff like that does not make you new friends - it generates hate. This world is like a powder keg right now, and any type of bad words to other countries does not help!

  5. Ancient "whistle" Key Finder on Microsoft Patent Suggests HoloLens Could Keep Track of Your Small Items (theverge.com) · · Score: 1

Way, way, back in the mid 1980's they came out with a tiny device you could put on your key ring. If you could not find the keys, all you had to do is whistle, and it would beep back 3 times. You did this until you "cornered" the keys. To me, I think it was better/cheaper technology.
