  1. I am constantly surprised by things that haven't been updated since 2008 that still work correctly on windows 10.
    Then I wonder is it abandoned or has it just not needed anything fixed in the last 8 years?

    I've never understood how that could be correct it wasn't manufactured for free all resources used in its manufacture had to be paid for and the company that made them made a profit.

    Are they manufactured in some mythical land where electricity is free?

    So that's the largest solar plant in the world and it only outputs 648 MW?

    I'm having trouble finding something to compare this to since the nuclear plant near me generates 846 MW with one unit (total 1824 MW) course it was built back in 1974 at a cost of $901,500,000 so about $494,243 per MW (Back in 1974) about $2,423,384 per MW in today's dollars and this project only cost $1,047,839 per MW. Hmmmm. I wonder if you could find a way to make solar panels work at night for less than 2 mil per MW?

    How can it "force the others to follow"? Won't it just drive the cost of coal down? Lots of supply & little demand = lower coal prices.

    Soon they won't be advertising clean coal anymore they will be advertising cheap coal. Cheaper than any other fuel by far.

    Most providers (comcast,att) are switching to a 1TB cap now.
    Or did you mean those of us that can't get wireline service? Oh they're still pretty screwed they either can't get the speed required to watch 4K or can't afford the GBs required to watch it.

    I have a feature phone because 1: it works wells as a phone and 2: I can swap the battery whenever the charge gets low.

    Please correct me if i'm wrong on this but IIRC not one of the candidates was against the surveillance state.

    Trump has said he wants to put abortion back in control of the states. (several states have made great progress killing off nearly all the clinics with just building code requirements what does he think they will do if given the option to ban it again altogether?)
    Trump appears to be neutral on the subject of gay marriage.

    Yep (both sides agree here too) There should be no limits on what the Gov't can collect but when it comes to keeping track of your medication which if mismanaged could actually kill you HIPAA GTFO.

    We get very poor choices.
    For desert we have shards oâ(TM) glass or beach apples.
    What would you like? Neither? That's all the options you get and you have to pick one or someone else will pick for you.

    Most smartphones only run like 3 hours tops if your actively using the screen.

  22. I've done that before my last cordless phone system at home (I no longer have a home phone) I cut the wires going to the speaker in the base station. Hey if I can't answer the phone at the base station (no built in speaker phone or handset) it needs to shut up so I can hear the cordless handsets ringing in the other room.

    Sure there is going to be a lot of people with strong options either way but the end result is the same either way.
    We get screwed by our FPTP voting system.
    For 300 million people we have two choices for leader. If a 3rd party wanders in nobody will vote for them because it means splitting the vote and virtually guaranteeing a win for the person they and the majority do not want.
    Would you like a "peoples choice brand" shitpie a "voters choice brand" shitcake or a "unbranded generic" lemon meringue pie?

    Both sides are so polarized now that discussion is difficult at best and hazardous to your health at worst.

  25. Yeah on most of the older stuff it was a setting.
    on the recent stuff you have to mod the firmware to get it to shut up.

    That said it would be pretty cool if we got a choice of car noises for low speed. If not that will likely become a fairly popular mod.
