I've bought two strategy guides, World of Warcraft and Homeworld. And I think my copy of the Diablo Battle Chest came with a free Diablo II guide, but I didn't buy it for the guide.

Anyway, the Homeworld one was invaluable as any first-time Homeworld player can tell you. The WOW one I barely ever looked at... the only page I had bookmarked was the one showing the Griffon routes, and even that one got outdated via patches very quickly.

I wouldn't say what's up with my American-centric-ness, I'd say what the hell's up with the game industry's Japan-centric-ness? I think Microsoft has the right position on this issue, personally. About time there was an American company doing some gaming again.

Also notice how women in action movies are frequently pilots or other non-combat roles, like in "Aliens" and "Starship Troopers." Lucas needs to realize that the original Star Wars trilogy were flukes... never before, and never since, have such cheaply-made movies (no offense to fans, but the budgets were relatively low) had such huge returns at the box office.

There's a few problems with your analysis.

The NES was actually technically better than the Atari 7800 with a better game selection. The SNES, again, was technically better than the Genesis and had an equally good game selection. (Jurassic Park was 10 times better on Genesis than SNES for some reason; Genesis Mortal Kombat had the blood, etc.)

But the Nintendo 64 isn't better than the Playstation technically, and it doesn't have a better collection of games. The Gamecube is slightly better than the PS2 technically, but has a crappy selection of games... AND the Xbox slaughters it technically with a decent number of great games there, as well.

So in short, the second half of your little comparison there is crap. The Nintendo 64 doesn't beat the Playstation, and the Gamecube doesn't edge out the PS2 or the Xbox. At least IMO.

Also, removal of the white button really screwed me up in Halo 2 because I forgot how to turn on my radio and talk to teammates. ;) (FYI, you can use Up on the d-pad, or hit the right shoulder button to talk, if you had the same problem I had.)
