    ebay improved the system by only allowing buyers to provide feedback, but they could improve the system more by giving the buyer the same rating as the buyer is giving the seller. Feedback is useful in determining whether or not the transaction was successful, but not useful in determining which of the two parties is responsible for a failed transaction.

    * It is nonsense through mutual reviews for the public to know which party was to blame for a bad transaction.
    * It is nonsense that in a transaction one party can be happy with the end result while the other party is unhappy.
    * Reviews are useful in rating whether or not a transaction was a success or a failure, but not useful for assigning blame.

    The way this works is that when a city builds its own broadband network it then restricts other broadband providers from competing with the city. A city providing broadband often does not result in more competition.

    If Obama really wanted more competition he would make it more difficult for cities to put on broadband competition. Instead he is more interested in seeing government run broadband.

    Bad idea. The purpose of the law is to override and weaken the strong protections California (and elsewhere) has given to its residents.

    Get your optometrist to write multiple prescriptions and buy multiple different glasses for different purposes. When I go to my optometrist he writes me three prescriptions for three different pairs of glasses.

    Glasses are ridiculously cheap. There is no reason you shouldn't have multiple pairs.

    Voicemail is not obsolete. What is obsolete is coca-cola's telephone system.

    Their voicemail would be more widely used if Coca-Cola upgraded their phone system so that: voicemail can be forwarded as email, voicemail can be automatically transcribed and emailed, voicemail can be forwarded to cell phones, their phones were able to receive and send SMS messages, etc.

    I did similar. My message was "please do not leave a message I rarely check my messages, instead do X". Did not work. People left messages anyway. I instead I turned off voicemail and now they do not hear any instructions on how to leave me a message.

    Yes it is. The movie was prescreened to the White House and the White House was asked for input on the movie. The White House explicitly asked for the execution of the NK leader to be retained in the film.
