  9. We did this in grade school. on HyperCard, What Could Have Been · · Score: 1

It was fun! I don't quite recall the year but around 5th or 6th grade (an american school) We were given many fun jobs to do in HyperCard. I had already been having a bunch of fun at home on an IBM PS/2 Model 50z, with things like GEOWORKS, and dialing in to AOL 1.4 with my 9600 baud XOOM modem. HyperCard was a fun new challenge! I quickly learned to 'hack' in HyperCard, doing things like learning from the Animation code in the examples and applying it to my own projects, which impressed the instructor. I was suddenly teaching the instructor and referred to by the instructor when other students asked how to 'make things move like that skateboard'.

Ah yes! those were the days....

I don't get it. Who really cares if the 'other 80+%' switch or not ? I know I don't ! I just use firefox.. I am not on some campaign to change the world.. This is the same thing that bugs me with a lot of open source projects, (Linux for example) the constant argument that "WE" 'are never going to get the rest of the world' and grandma and grandpa to switch...

Is it REALLY in the general user of firefox's interest to have everyone on the planet using it ? There is a large base of users now that get the bug fixing process handled..

No more world domination fantasies ! I think firefox is doing fine as it is..

Great film! Fits this subject well

American radar wrongly detects a russian attack and sends off the planes with the nukes to russia, problem comes up and the planes cannot be stopped even after the realization it was a mistake..

Bombs dropped on Moscow, the president of the USA tries to convince Russians that it was an accident, he decides the only way to convince russia (and stop a total nuclear war) was to bomb America itself.. film ends with New York being nuked.. crisis avoided..
