I'm in the same boat. Chrome would probably be my primary browser if they implemented something like the Tree Style Tab extension. I keep checking the Chrome extensions for anything new, but I am disappointed everytime. Until something like that is available for Chrome, I'm stuck with Firefox.
No. The Government does have control over RIM it seems. We cannot browse SSL on our BlackBerries. Everything HAS to be unencrypted. Perhaps the operators are crying about it and not being able to offer SSL. The Government will find a way to get what they want.
The gaming industry seems to have the ESA, and the software industry has BSA, and both of them have been working in their own way to weed out piracy. And they seem to be doing fine by not going after individuals, but bigger fish like warez/release groups, modchip sellers, etc.
The RIAA could simply go after torrent trackers which earn a profit via donations (there are a few torrent trackers who's admins are driving around in expensive cars bought from the donations of users) or the like, or they could similarly go after release groups. The kind of arrogance ( P2PLawsuits.com ) and blatant disregard of their own customers that the RIAA seem to show is quite disgusting IMO.
When I tried to install XP, I found it could recognise a USB drive. It would even allow me to install Windows onto it! But it wouldn't read the SATA drivers off it. I needed to find a working floppy disk in order to get those drivers onto the machine!
Reminded me of Slackware back in the mid 90s. It's just as well most Windows users get the OS preloaded by the PC manufacturer. If they all had to install it themselves, surely most would give up and install Linux instead. The installer boots from the CD and includes all the drivers? What crazy person thought of that insane idea. You can slipstream your storage drivers into your Windows installation media with nLite (www.nliteos.com). Just add them as textmode drivers and the setup will pick up your storage controllers without any fuss.
Vista, otoh, allows you to supply drivers via USB drives too.
You should consider BitlBee, an IRC gateway for all the major networks. All you need is an irc client like irssi, and a bitlbee server, either setup on your own PC, or a public bitlbee server.

emerge --sync
emerge -uvDN world
I don't see what's the difficulty in that. Besides, there's enough documentation to get you out of any mess that you're in. The Gentoo docs are simple enough to be understood by almost everyone.
Yeah. I've spent the last month helping people sort out their issues with Linux on the PS3. And messing around with repositories is frustrating. OTOH, with Gentoo, an emerge will surely install whatever you want, without having to add repositories or downloading RPMs of applications which aren't available thru repos.
Read. Most of the required stuff is already available as pre-compiled binaries which have been compiled ON the PS3, unlike YDL or Fedora Core, which have PPC binaries.
Actually, once you get Gentoo setup properly, i.e. Installing the latest kernel, a Graphical Desktop Environment like KDE or Gnome plus the usual stuff, Gentoo is actually the best distro.
Installing stuff is peanuts. Heck, Portage and Emerge do all of the work for you, i.e. Managing scripts, config files and all.
How about you intall Gentoo with all the stuff and give it a try. That old woman will love it:P

I've had 2 of my friends try and send me an invite but it doesn't seem to work. My inbox does not show any email about the invite. What gives?
Get rFactor and head to http://rfactorcentral.com/ and download one of the many available F1 mods.
Skype is not owned by eBay anymore.

EA is suddenly cool. Yeah, I know, I didn't get the memo either.
Codemasters, IIRC.
There is a classic theme, what are you talking about? Desktop Personalization > Basic and High Contrast Themes > Windows Classic.
Majority of Indians prefer to use lakhs/lacs instead of hundred thousand and one crore instead of ten million. Summary is written by an Indian.

Atleast in Linux, you can use the memory as swap or a ramdisk.

I foresee a massive discount for a certain Indian state by a certain U.S. company... We don't pay for anything; school or no school ;)
