But only because he was more oil thirsty. Not because he actually cared. African countries have been brutalising their people forever, why is it something was done only in this instance?
A declaration by some wing of a splintered popular uprising in an African country, reported by a news source with zero credibility? Is this what Slashdot has come to?:(
Why not, it works for Apple rumours which are often less than news.

If you had played it for more than 5 minutes you would have noticed that having the character on screen adds to the sense of claustrophobia as well as how imminently close and deadly the enemies are. It's supposed to raise your stress and tension levels. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it but thankfully enough people did that they were allow to make a sequel.
The issue facing markets isn't that. It's algorithmic trading
You couldn't be more wrong. The absolutely opposite is true. Algorithmic trading is exactly what the exchanges want and here's why:
Increased trading means increased fees. Exchanges charge a fee for each and every order. MTFs such as Chi-X and Turquoise grabbed market share by having a clever pricing structure based on whether your order is sitting on the order book and filled (passive) or your order is immediately filled against something already at the top of the order book (aggresive). The MTFs actually reimbursed fees if you are passive and charged you less that the LSE in any case for being aggressive. This attracted huge amounts of liquidity from the primaries and encouraged market making behaviour. Throw in that they often had better technology since it was all brand new. This was all circa 2007.
For some reason, whenever a subject about trading comes up on Slashdot, some of you love to find a way to fit in some algo bashing. Likely the same people that mindlessly bash Obama irrespective of the topic. Wouldn't you be happier over at 911truth?
Apple and also Android Manufacturers must be rubbing their hand with glee. Nice way you shoot yourself in the foot Nokia. Also, the patent trolls will be gearing up to sweep up the pieces.
Fortunately, there isn't any rape in this game. Even Fox News wouldn't claim that. They just claim that seeing "Gang Bang" come up on the screen as an achivement when you kill a gang of people will cause your teenage sons to go out and rape people. You can draw your own conclusions about that.
I don't see why Nintendo can't get in on the action too. They have a whole catalogue of wii games that would port quite well to touch interfaces. They have arguably the best legacy content in the world. They could also be that low cost developer by buying up or hiring small dev teams.
Nintendo's comments remind me of the way the incumbent airlines decried people booking low cost flights online with the budget airlines, or the record companies negativity towards iTunes, or book publishers with Amazon. Sometimes changes to your business model are forced upon you. Blame the internet if you want, but you've got to move with the times.
Certain games suit controller input and other are better with mouse and keyboard. I actually own SNES, Genesis, N64 and PSX console controllers with their USB adapters. I don't see that the experience is too different when playing and emu with the original controller to actually playing the console itself.
Although there are lots of counter-examples, those games good with control pads include platformers, beat-em-ups, driving games and arcade games in general. Mouse and keyboard is best suited to RPG, RTS, Flight Sim (additionally with a proper joystick), Graphical Adventure and debatably, FPS in my opinion.
I'm glad it's a more common word now. Before the iphone, people were only interested in something if it was a Web 2.0 page because it was cool. Now we can write proper applications again.

You can't blame Stallman for trying, I mean it's easier goal than getting everyone to use linux on the desktop. /joke
You're being deliberately obtuse. Here are some of the possible benefits I can think of immediately:
Keep this line for later, you can include it in your future posts:
I'm too unimaginative to appreciate X and so I think X is useless to everyone.
Why not, it works for Apple rumours which are often less than news.
I'm hoping the software has a 'eaten fewer pies' slider.
Uh oh. Looks like 2011 is the year of the Windows Desktop.

I think if you like this kind of thing, you have to skip films and play games instead. I recommend Dead Space 2 right now.

Sounds great, where can I buy it.
Hint: There's no such things as bad publicity for computer games.
Agreed that they want to keep it going, but who knows, eventually they might have to go the way of Sega.

I'm aware of that. Maybe those two points should have been two separate posts.

I think this is more like a Pinky and The Brain kind of experiment.
No, no, you're thinking of Tiger Woods. He won the 'Knobend Grease' prize.
"...shall have done the most women between nations, etc, etc."
This is all very interesting but if you want to earn the big bucks, you start your own lottery.
Don't get behind me either!
That would be expensive. It would help if they use their dial-up connection over Skype. /joke
Are you asking for a saucy bed-time story from a burly arab dude? You're brave.
Maybe they were worried about the use of D4s as weapons. Dangerous those. You could have an eye out.
Haven't they got better things to do, like reducing the prevalence of weapons, drugs, alcohol and cellular phones in prisons?
