We have a lot of stupid laws that were brought about by public demand too. For example, all the laws retracting your freedom in order to catch terrorists. Most of the people on the street are actually convinced this kind of thing is a good idea.
Bad, potholed roads. That's not a carmaker's problem.
I must disagreee. It's the duty of the car maker to ensure that the vehicle is suitable for the task intended. If it's intended for driving on India's pot-holed roads then it should be built with suitable suspension in order to prevent accidents. If it's legal to drive it on high-speed trunk roads then it needs to meet certain safety standards for high-speed collisions. It seems pretty intuitive to me.
You'll probably find that he wasn't distributing anything himself. I can bet that the camera which snapped the picture of him probably wasn't his. There's always some dumbass that will take pictures of you and put them on his/her facebook profile without your permission.
He's clearly aware of the intractability. From the summary, "This isn't really tractable for large values of n. But for small numbers (maybe up to 5), this could at least be brute-forced."
And he's right. If you remember your computability and intractability lessons at Uni then you'll rember that TSP is quickly solvable for small values of n. Just like the summary states. Approximations are only required for larger values of n where the solution takes much longer to arrive at.
I'm not sure if that's the right business model. What are the odds of someone stumbling on these slashdot-user-created domains in particular? I mean, only people coming from slashdot right? I don't think that's really good quality ad-clickage there. Unless of course there are some particularly stupipd slashdot users. Oh wait...

Excatly, even if it's just from an academic perspective. For example, a lot of people are interested how they built such big pyramids. I imagine in the future there might be some interest in exactly how electronics worked without transistors. It's already interesting now.
How exactly does tricking them into registering junk domains that ridicule their company help them make money? Please explain in standard South Park numerical business model steps.
A high page rank is valuable since it could be considered as a scarce and precious resource that is chosen as an investment by Google. The quality of their search results directly affects their profitability. So in my view, gaming a search engine is similar to creative presentation of company accounts and companies that practice one are perhaps similar in some respects to Enron or Worldcom.
So, I would equate the two. They are just two different levels of deceiving a person or organisation into investing time or money in your company.
It depends on the context. If you're asking a lot of java questions at interview and then you as 'what's a hashtable?', don't be surprised if you get a java answer.
Who cares if it's good when you can make it with liquid nitrogen!
Yes and Slashdot is full of cultural connoisseurs.

Alright Class, let's try one of these comparisons again, some of us are a little slow today.
Also I don't know of any software to "learn boxing" on the xbox 360 (fight night round 3) any better than you can "learn guitar" on the PS2.
You see how that workd yet?
"Meteor Crater, Arizona" (it's on Google Maps; it's where the final scene of Starman was shot incidentally).
And also the final scene of Mac and Me.
I should really have posted this AC...

Netcraft.... oh never mind.
I wouldn't want to be inside one of these on the same road as anything bigger than a smart car. Interstate or pedestrianized street.
You should know better than to anger the 'hive mind'. :P
I'm not sure why your comment has been moderated into oblivion but I understand what you mean. The general case is more interesting.

Hmm. Glad I didn't go to your university.
I second this. Most techies know how to have a good time these days. I'm also a DJ and get paid for that as a hobby. :)
Lights are for knob-ends however.

Also calculus used to be refered to as "The Calculus". I like that. It sounds grand. :)
I think it's more of an upsertion. :P
Or is that indation...
What's the word that means means 'insert or update'?

The can is there to prevent theft of the food. You can't open the can to eat the food without violating the DMCA. Sorry.

Teehee, he said sperm. :P
I would have though gold-pressed latinum for the google peeps.
My local pub had a reversal of Poles. One migrant worker replaced another at the end of his shift.
