I agree. When I have kids I'll need at least two so I can set them up in a RAID configuration in case of any failures. Also, as well as a wife I'll need a girlfriend so that I can make regular offsite backups. As you know, RAID isn't a replacement for well considered backups. Especially since a novice wife might "rm -rf *" my family when she discovers my "rsync" job...
That almost scared me. I quit World of Warcraft because raiding with a guild and grinding seemed like a time sink. I never thought until now that I lost 3 whole years into the abyss of time...:S
It's quite obvious that this was easy to cirvumvent. However, the difficulty of circumventing it doesn't isn't a factor in the eyes of the law. This whole reason for this is so that Apple could add another layer of DMCA gotchas for anyone poking their nose into iTunes. This is to beef up any case that they might have if they catch someone violating their copyrights not because they actually think this will stop anyone.
If you call museum-piece code timeless then yes, I suppose you're right. But if like most sane people you look at how much code has actually been written in total (in both languages), I suspect there's a lot more Java out there than LISP. Good luck banishing it all so quickly to the history books where LISP is right now...
That ANYONE above the age of 12, in a CIVILIZED FIRST WORLD COUNTRY, would LACK THESE SKILLS, tells me all I need to know about how "educated" and "enlightened" westerners truly are as compared to how much they THINK they are.

I used to work for a well known company in London and met a colleague visiting from Moscow. He stanuchly believes that God created everything and that evolution probably can't be relied upon. Being a colleague I couldn't really push him too far on the point for fear of HR reprisals...
Excuse my ingorance but I've never heard of him before until today. I felt a little sad and respectful when I read the headlines but digging into his character a little a now I just feel dissapointed by him. I don't think he'll actually be missed very much.
Actually this kind of thing is pretty common while falling asleep. It happens to me too and is absolutely nothing to worry about, especially if you're not still seeing it now. Don't worry, your retina is probably still attached to the back of your eye.
People actually remember computers systems things that routinely do something interesting (good or bad) such as computer systems, cars, girlfriends and so on. Although these things aren't now deep within your long term memory it can take very little to bring them back. A sound, a smell a phone call from Microsoft...
Wow, this sounds great to me. It actually sounds like your vote really makes a difference. In the US and UK you only have a choice between two parties that are pretty much the same. You say that your system can be slow but compare this to other governments where change happens at a glacial speed anyway and usually in the wrong direction. Like the proverbial slow-moving train wreck...
They're probably waiting to get some decent sales under their belt before releasing a moddable, 'hot-coffeeable' version.
And kill!
And McDonalds claim they make nutritious healthy food...

Too true. If you can afford billions on a war, a few backup tapes are probably affordable.
Try the following example:
1) Open notepad creating a new text file
2) Type the following: Bush hid the facts
3) Save the text file
4) Close notepad
5) Open the text file again
Spooky...
(Many of you will have seen this before since it's an old trick. For those of you who don't know, it's caused by a unicode detection bug)
Oh! Oh! Oh! Me! I hate tarantella, it's a pain.
Indeed. Remember also that North Carolina has an abundant supply of primates.

Giant steps are what you take, walking on the moon.

All those strange files in Windows Update and Genuine Advantage actually install a tiny webcam into your display unit. We're watching you.
How many edges on a nitrogon?
It moves too fast to count them.
You mean the German people pay to inflict this crap on the world? Godwin in 3... 2... 1...

Can't wait to get the last mechanical pieces out of my computers.

I'm taking a distance learning course in sooth-saying and one-eyed squinting.
I was going to mod you up but then I remembered I time when I didn't have mod points and thought better of it.
