I think if you actually read his blog from time to time you wouldn't wish that for him at all...he finally has come out of the "hey your Weasley Crusher" shadow and has finally made something else of his life.
I am guessing but if they approached Wil for a guest appearance as Wesley, Wil would have beat them down.
My reading comprehension skills are fine perhaps yours are rusty..I thought I made myself clear but perhaps not...
I disagree with your first point. And the second point is irrelavant.
Prisons were under control before TV and Videogames came around don't see why they would need them now. You can "control" them by putting them to work.
If you were sent to prison you were sent by your peers sucks to be you should of gotten a better lawyer. *knock on wood I'll never need one*
Wow you make it sound like you go to jail because your unlucky...no you go to jail for making bad descisions in life. Those bad descisions should not give you the right to sit around playing video games and freeloading off society. They should be made to work and work hard to rehabilitate themselves. Not play video games. They shouldn't be allowed to watch TV in my opinion.
The jails worked before TV and video games and it can work now without it.
OK great since you are asking the linux community to match this one donation...can you also figure out how the linux community can match all his other donations to schools and other charities.
For example Bill gave $5 million to the Rochester, NY city schools this past year. How much would each Linux community member need to pitch in to match that? While your figuring that out I'll figure out the rest of the donations for 2004.
The point is you can't compete. Just give what you can and be happy that someone is trying to give back to the community.
So what are you saying that he should of just kept his money and not done anything? At least he does something! You don't hear of to many millionaires parting ways with their money very often.
It was in our local news recently that Bill Gates and foundation gave $5 million to our city schools. Why did he do that for us? Because he wants to help but not feel like he owns the process.
It's just like tsunami relief you hear actors and companies giving $1 million of thier own money. Who cares that $1 million ain't going to do crap for the victims...but enough people together that donate what they can when they can is going to make a difference.
You got to ask yourself what if the story read Steve Jobs donated $750 would you be reading in the comments that it was a conspiracy or that $750 million ain't going to do shit? NO! Because the editors of Slashdot posted this story for the lone reason as to fuel the immature fire of microsoft bashing. "ooh look at how he's through his money around now" "conspiracy" "Fix outlook instead"
This place and the people that visit are truely unbelievable sometimes.
What are you holed up? Or do you just get your information from Slashdot which only reports on negative Microsoft stories and positive everything else.
But I'll give you some links to show there is more to life then reading 2-3 day old stories where the submitter spins reality to show their ignorance as is the case with this story:
All recent patches/holes and all came out about the same time. So please don't tell me your shit don't stink every operating system has their flaws it's the nature of software development.
Well again I'll point out that the author didn't read the article as did not the majority of commenters in here...laziness or ignorance I can't figure out which...but the reviewer was reffering to the Maliscious Virus Remover as being 'ineffective' and he gave the anti-spyware tool a good score for protecting a already clean system.
The author of this post (happyslayer) obviously didn't read the article because then he would have understood that the author of the review was referring to the Maliscious Virus remover as being 'ineffective' not the anti-spyware software. The reviewer said that the anti-spyware software did a great job at the role of being a protector of a clean machine, which it should be because that is hopefully going to be the primary use.
But thanks micheal for not reading the post and the article to see if what you posted on Slashdot was credible. You know people at CBS lost their jobs for reporting without checking facts.
Replace a few words there and you pretty much summed up my career as a Developer.
Wouldn't it be cool if this would work and then further development of the
program could continue? We could have an entire army of these developers to build a proper application completely ready for users to install.
Then the developers could be continue to be useful for routine maintenance/repairs around the program without exposing users to the dangers of code.
All this is because Bush is trying to get on the nicey nice with voters...well this voter sees right past his stupidity. What he should be focusing on is why companies are allowed to offshore american jobs to India. New Jersey outsources a government service to help find jobs to out of work people oversees, god the irony in that is enough to choke a hourse. But Bush sees nothing wrong with that, he even gives tax incentives to these companies.
3 million jobs have been lost under Bush's rule of tyranny. 3 million jobs! The worst since Herbert Hoover and the great depression. He wants us all to have broadband because we will need something when we all have lost our jobs.
What about gas prices this past week there were three record setting days for the highest average gas prices. What happened to Bush's campaign promise that they could control the price of oil because he and Chenney had experience in the industry. What a crock!
So keep making bold and stupid visions like going to the Moon and then Mars. Keep worring about the people in Iraq and Afghanastan and forgetting about us we don't mind really. We don't have domestic problems of our own to worry about or nothing.
Why does Slashdot continue to use BN.com as their affiliate program for books?
Amazon continually beats them in price on every book review done.
Amazon $13.59*
*Yes it's an Aff link.
" If MS doesn't like their employees owning iPods, they should quit paying them so much."
Just so you know I didn't read past that sentence...as soon as I read it I knew you were an idiot.
HAHAH yes that would be perfect. LOL
I love it when he walks around saying his name I bust a gut everytime.
Although I would think it was great if he had a guest appearance on Boston Legal, along side William "FUCKING" Shatner. LOL
I think if you actually read his blog from time to time you wouldn't wish that for him at all...he finally has come out of the "hey your Weasley Crusher" shadow and has finally made something else of his life.

Any profits should go back to the taxpayers and not to the inmates who have no rights.
Yes I agree the logic is there to outgive...but is in the hearts of the linux community to give...who would organize it?
It's the linguistics that is hard.
You also might want to figure in that Billy boy upped the donation
You should do your research before you doubt:
S he et/

Doesn't matter Bellyflop no amount of money is going to be good enough for these Immature Microsoft bashing assholes.
They will still come up with their conspiracy theories and reasons to hate him.
"Let's see if the Linux community can match his generosity."
God I hate people that try to one up others!

Your an idiot!
Hey the editors have to dumb this shit down to the immature audience it has...you can't blame them for giving them what they want.
Students at a school go on a shooting spree when officials told them that they couldn't play Halo 2 for a good cause.
Idiots

Sounds like a great idea. I think Apple and Linux also need to make their OS just as secure then...why only hold Microsoft to a higher standard.
... the only problem is they don't have the marketshare..
Linux and Apple have just as many holes
But this has been argued to death so it shouldn't be new to anyone.
