Wrong kind of Larp. I'm in the Camarilla - http://camarilla.white-wolf.com/ and we play in the World of Darkness setting, which includes such games as Vampire: the Requiem, Werewolf: the Forsaken, Mage: the Awakening, Changling: the Lost, and Geist: the Sin-Eaters. In short, if the name of the game is {Monster}: the {adjective} it's likely a LARP somewhere. :-)

  3. Very much so on Samsung's Galaxy Tab Android Tablet Now Official · · Score: 0, Interesting

Something like this is perfect for huge searchable PDF's. I help run a huge LARP, and there are well over 200+ source books for material for this game system. Something like this would be awesome, as I wouldn't have to drag several pounds of dead tree around to every game, which has the added benefit of not beating up my physical copies of the books. Not to mention that when there is a rules question, I can open the right PDF, search for the rule, and answer the question then and there instead of having to freeze the game while I look things up. I am certain there are other similar real world problems that are easily solved by a device like this.

I'm not paying more than $400 or so for one however. I'll wait until the price comes down quite a bit before I pick one up. I only paid $450 for my last laptop, which currently (mostly) provides the same functionality, though it is much heavies than a pad like this.

I think he lied. Did you read Paul O'Neil's book? It's frightening, and the guy is a staunch republican, not a crank or a crackpot - he's served in several administrations before this one, and still sounds like an appologist on every radio show I've heard him on. Read his book.

    Re: Clinton
I would have supported impeachment for lying to the court - sadly, they went after him for the infamous blue dress. I didn't support what he was in court for in the first place. I think Republicans will lie, cheat, and steal (like they did in the last election) to hold on to power, and for that reason alone, they scare the shit out of me. I agree with their stance on fiscal policy (except the supply siders, voodoo economics doesn't work) and some of their social policy, though not much.

Worse, they refuse to even talk to you once you mention that you'd be willing to write the driver for them. Useless bags of shit. I'll never buy another Trident product as long as I live.

    • What about the all-shrimp-and-chili-paste diet? Schlemphfer writes "A few months back, Slashdot featured a NY Times story that talked about the Atkins diet in glowing terms. This week, the Times has published a Jane Brody article raising serious questions about whether Atkins-style diets are dangerous and unsustainable. Brody is one of the most prominent and respected nutrition journalists, so it's worthwhile to read her take on the matter. Brody's article, which cites some important new research, may be an eye-opening read for Slashdot readers who took the plunge with Atkins back in July." (The NYT requires free registration.)

    This article is absolute garbage.

FACT: The foods that you are often encouraged to eat the most of, are the foods that are the easiest and the cheepest to produce. They are also the ones that MAXIMIZE profit for that industry.

FACT: Fat in your diet, or protien does not put fat on your body - carbohydrates do. Period. End of discussion.

FACT: Anyone who says otherwise has either bought the industry hype, or has outright been bought by them.

FACT: Benign dietary ketosis (NOT the same thing as ketoacidosis) is the ONLY WAY your body removes fat stores.
