If you knew anything about science at all creative people are in fact rejected if you look at studies, people are not open minded or creative, most of them, including many nerds. Just because you don't find value in those ideas, or the masses don't care about efficiency means little.

Most human beings are low effort thinkers, things they don't need or care about they don't value but they think they are in a position to judge them (even though they haven't really thought about it seriously or put in the effort) so their opinions are little more then superstitions.

How unenlightened, I've always wanted to put a d-pad on the thumb side of the mouse for easy weapon switching instead of reaching keys in odd spaces. Even with keyboard customization distributing the load to a hand that is more idle (the aiming hand) that merely only moves the mouse increases efficiency.

I've had tonnes of insights into how hardware and user interfaces as well could be better designed. Perhaps you need to learn about the fact that you don't live in reality but only your awareness? i.e. what you see is highly dependent on how much you've exposed yourself to learning how to observe which takes a lifetime of experience and often from the school from hard knocks about how much your mind ISN'T capable of recognizing the truth, you won't "know it when you see it" because that is not how your mind works.

Yeah, if you only want to take quick snapshots and you don't care about the quality, any phone camera will do. But even among phones, camera quality varies.

For a long time, I carried a Motorola Droid X with an 8 MP camera. I didn't buy it for the camera, but having the camera made me fall into the habit of taking pictures whenever I saw something interesting. (I'm a serious pedestrian living in a town with a lot of interesting architecture and views.) The results were pretty cool.

Then I had to replace the phone with a Motorola Triumph with a 5 MP camera. Picture quality suffered. Wouldn't have mattered so much to me if the previous camera hadn't introduced me to the joys of casual photography. When I have the time and money, I will certainly buy a more serious camera and take some classes.

Will that camera be Android-powered? The way the article goes at it (is there enough added functionality?) is exactly backwards. It assumes you live in an Android-powered world and are looking for the best way to integrate your picture-taking into it. For my part, I'll look at all low-end cameras, Android or not, and see which has the physical and electronic features that will work for me.

I suspect that Android is overkill for a dedicated camera and that one of those special purpose, nameless OSs that most cameras come with will suit me better. But I'm withholding judgment until the time comes.

First off, if you've got your users grabbing random (to them) software and slogging through a shell, you're doing it wrong. Whatever it is that you've got them doing is something that you've already failed to automate on their behalf.

Secondly, don't throw out the baby with the bathwater. It seems to me that if there were software in existence that worked just like VNC but in reverse, it would fit your important* requirements just fine.

Now, suppose this concept already existed, and had been in use for some years. How would you find such a thing? Nobody would be stupid enough to call it reverse VNC, would they?

But just to make sure, I googled reverse VNC and HOLY FUCK THERE IT IS!

*: Your requirement of running in a web browser is as ridiculous as your unstated requirement that it not be VNC.

Err, yeah, except for the one that the human eye is most sensitive to, green. The image has a reddish tint like a faded magazine print (unsurprisingly) so that single shade of blue is also very muted. I can't say I see a lot of texture, either. Five seconds of Googling turns up http://bit.ly/Pd75s1 (yes, it's perfectly safe for work) which looks like a far more useful image.
