There's an interesting story...
That I read about on the ContactLog Blog - a couple of days ago. Why is
/. so behind lately? -
Obviously...
The submitter has not read all the facts available.

Re:this should be nice
Budgies also enjoy encrypted DVD works. I love my budgerigars and always ensure they get a healthy dose of DRM. It's like "flipping the bird" to these companies, in a more litteral sense. (I sometimes have to flip the budgies over when they gobble up too much DRM)

I use these 'hacker tools'
For things like remote desktop quite a lot for work and home. I imagine that the legislation applies only to property you do not own, much in the same way as someone (past resident etc) could quite legally have a key to your house, it's just when they use it they get in trouble.
Just hope they don't get too draconian with it. -
Why is /. always late with stories?
Every time I see a story that remotely interests me, I've already read about it on the ContactLog Blog. Is a scrawny little upstart going to upstage the
/.? -
They've been planning this for an age
I know that in summer, they were at least considering the redesign.
I usually trust what the guys at that site say, they're pretty well informed. -
Almost everything
I decided to ditch windows and install ubuntu for one, I've never looked back. You can read about some of my experiences here and here

MOD PARENT UP
While I'm not sure about the idea of sealed oil canisters, wouldn't coating the electronics with the oil work pretty well like this video demonstrates I would be dubious however about spraying my nice new boards with oil!

Apples & Oranges
Like the contactlog blog has mentioned times you just can't compare apples and oranges.

MOD PARENT UP
This game has been a favorite of mine for a long time, I got it from the very same site.

Free FPS Games
Apparently the contactlog repository is a fantastic mirror for games available freely (as in both speech & beer)

Re:Linux Wars?
Different features for different users, I personally like Ubuntu for its easy use. Whilst Mandriva, and others I've not found so intuitive. I've written an article comparing some of my favorites.
-
Hah
There are so many predictions that come true and those that do not, I've done a blog post which specifies my favorites.
-
Funny this article came up.
I was just finishing up a post on my blog about privacy.
-
User Responsibility....
Perhaps the burden of responsibility should be placed on the user, for instance in the web app I am working on, there is an option to download your data. And I recommend that, because sometimes the servers go down or something beyond my control.
-
Already started years ago...
My cousin lives in Japan, and I've mentioned things like this on my blog several times.

This is no new issue.
Letdowns are fairly common. DNF, anyone?
This is not the first time that this issue has occured.
I found some interesting reading on this site -
Slashdot Dupe Finder
I'm working on a greasemoney script that potentially identifies dupes. It's only in its infancy, as I'm having to make a call to a database which is updated hourly via screen-scraping. I think that with a few weeks running, it should start to filter them out. It's just a fun little project.
You can see what I've done so far. Slashdot dupe finder
All help and advice is appreciated. -
Pot & Kettle?
I've been following this for some time. I can't be bothered to type out the whole post, but my blog can be found here with interesting comments too.

This has been proven.
Load distribution has long been an issue with solid state drives.
