This is the kind of story I would expect from the masses at slashdot..
I would expect slashdot to have a higher standard than this.

I also HATE when stories get posted on both sites. I present a web site I had nothing to do with , but here it is.

at the time of posting, slashdot was way ahead (11-5)

I notice digg getting first post about stuff i dont care about. I notice slashdot having decent conversations about the posted topic. Try having a coherent threaded discussion about a topic on digg (blech)

I visit both sites, but much prefer slashdot. But thats just me, and I'm crazy.

What matters here more is the discussion, which is often very thoughtful (like this :-) ) and not the stories or who posted first (digg or /.). Sorry, I respect your low UID, but saw that this was your second comment today on the subject.

Why the hell do I have to view the same crap over and over? Why do I have to see the same thing on /., digg, and hackaday, then on boingboing, then on the makeblog... research your stories, editors.

Still pretty much equal scores. (There are some bad weeks, and some good weeks, but overall the difference is negligible.)

it's a scoring system that tracks digg and slashdot. +3 for first post, +1 for ties (within 50 min, | -1 ripping off the title & url.

Using their scoring system Slashdot doesn't look that bad.
However, if they had a -1 for delays longer than 24 hours Digg would score much better.

Slashdot may post earlier sometimes but Digg rarely is more than 24 hours behind.
Slashdot was 30+ hours behind on a number of stories.

I read Slashdot for the great comments.
Digg looks like a good alternative if /.ers are annoying.

In fact, I could argue that /. is faster as this website attests. but note that Digg did bit /. to this particular story.

Digg.com had this article posted six hours ago.

I've been to Digg, and their stories are much more current than Slashdot's (seemingly because of the way stories are posted)

This story was posted much earlier on digg.com, what is going to happen to slashdot ?.
