There are geek babes out there! I found one at After Y2K. Her name is Nitrozac, and she's a Techno Talking Babe! Unfortunately I seem to have some competition, as most of her other readers have crushes on her too ;-)

MacOS is going down the tubes. Mac has lost its position as a software provider. What profits it has made lately have not been due to its software but to the gimicky hardware: a translucent lollypop colored computer case. Most of the the folks buying the iMac didn't care if it were running MacOS or CP/M. It was just so adorable! And it looks oh sooooh good in a Martha Stewart kitchen. Hey, with my iMac I can check the weather forcast while I sip my morning coffee! I'm high tech now.

yep, UF kicks serious butt. I think it's time to re-read the whole series soon. btw, tehre's a similar strip at geekculture.com. It's not quite as funny, but still great. dunno about Dilbert, I don't read it... isn't that a dead-tree one only?

Or, alternatively, imagine clone banks where you can go to pick the genes of your child when you can check out how these genes turned out in real people. Thanks, Kaa. That's something that I wanted to broach. It's an interesting topic, especially in light of the movie Gattica a couple of years back. click here for what I consider a accurate review of the movie. Here's another one. Chilling stuff, IMO. Chilling.

As I think has been said, It's not the science that's freightening... It's the application of it. (i.e. Just because we CAN do it doesn't mean we SHOULD do it!)

Geek Culture has some cool geek caps (is that an oxymoron?).... the hacker hats are especially quite cool, with the scary skull on it. Their T-shirts are OK too, I bought a glow-in-the-dark alien one that I'm very fond of.
