Yes, Shareware was the same sort of concept, except in that case you downloaded a third of the game, and then had a choice of a physical or digital copy. What they're proposing here is they sell you 1/3rd of the game on physical medium, and then tie the rest with DRM to a console that could possibly fail and an account that could possibly be inaccessible in the future when they shut down support for "legacy hardware".

I'm just glad I can still get to world 8 on my copy of Super Mario Bros 3, and the second castle in Symphony of the Night isn't going anywhere either.

The knife on the topic is a chef's knife, not a meat cleaver. A meat cleaver would be a terrible choice for the task at hand. Far too thick and clumsy.

Exactly what DLC are you referring to? Episode 1 and 2? You and I disagree as to what is DLC and what isn't I guess. Episodes 1 and 2 were entertaining, pushed the story and concepts forward. From my perspective, they haven't been "milking it" enough, I want episode 3 to come out more than I want portal 2.

Portal is their best property, and they seem to treat it as an red-headed afterthought to Gordon Freeman's latest round of sewer running.

After watching this, there's no way that can be true.

Unless they plan on adding extra multiplayer goodies to the subsequent "episode", then the real driver to buy anything after the first one would have to be a nice, solid single player-experience and plot-line.

YOU don't understand the tech. It gets a 2D image back and tries to fake some depth. Hell, it has problems seeing black people because of this. It's not FLIR.

I know it isn't probably what you want but I think http://www.comicvine.com/ is probably a good wiki for comics, though it would be nice to see those sort of things on wikipedia. I am not sure how much info is on comicvine as I am more of a videogamer and a related website http://www.giantbomb.com/ is good for that.
