Re: nsa domains not secured
Here is a detailed summary of many of the ways the NSA is still incredibly vulnerable. It's a fascinating read, on par with James Bamford's writing about the inner workings of the NSA.

Re: Three quarters of a pound, eh?
My first portable mp3 player didn't have flash memory. Instead, the mp3s were burned as files to a CD, which the player could then read. It was an advancement over portable CD players because audio compression allowed a single disc to store many more songs. It still had the issue that it would skip whike running or doing many other types of exercise. Regardless, it was still an improvement over other technology available at the time. If you're interested in old portable music players going back to the walkman, there's a good history with lots of pictures at this site.

"Goat" machine?
Don't use your own machine, use a honeypot
I F with them using Xubuntu 14.04 "Trusty Tahr" on my own laptop. Not one of those furriners has managed to make his way through my Xfce install over the phone, even if I do humor them by opening the applications menu when they ask for the Start button.

I hope you don't mean goat machine.cx.

determining linux compromise
"And how can you diagnose it?" This is the crux of it, to me. If you were compromised, how would you know? Assuming you do trust Debian-provided software, and you haven't (intentionally) installed any non-Debian-provided software, how can you check that Debian-provided software is indeed all that is running on your system right now? There actually is a product that does this. Verifying the currently executing software in memory, plus checking for kernel rootkits and backdoors, is basically what the Second Look memory forensics software is designed to accomplish. I know many aren't willing or able to pay for commercial Linux security tools, but there really isn't any open source project that does this right now. You can use debsums to verify files on disk, and maybe try elfcmp to verify what's running...

Re:Get your shortened goat guy while it's fresh!
Also, possibly the only time someone has a chance at +5 informative for posting goatse.
Nope. Not the only time, and not the first one either
Linked comment has a certain age already, http://www.hick.org/goat used to be an alias for goatse but unfortunately no longer works. But you can still recognize the giver.jpg and hello.jpg suffixes.

Re:The Java Platform
Say, can I use an interpreted scripting language on the JVM? Which one would be most suited?
Sure, take your pick: I'm sure there's others... -
I use Sleep
I use Sleep, a perl-like scripting language for java which is extremely easy (and fun) to embed and extend.

There have been +5 Insightful Goatse comments before. (Note: at that time http://www.hick.org/goat was an alias for goatse). Interestingly enough, the technique described therein cannot only be applied to spammer's web shites, but to lots of other ASP shites as well!

Re:Who cares, it's a stupid domain anyway
No, it is known who created Goatse. Back before it got taken down, its DNS pointed to the same IP address as the one hosting http://www.hick.org . Hence http://www.hick.org/goat/ was not a mirror, but a different location for the same copy. Looking up hick.org with whois, we get one Matt Miller of Kansas:

Make Linux PVRs and sell them
You can make Linux PVRs using open source software and then sell them, like this individual. Look at his post for pointers.
Or you can steal open source software like Sveasoft and then use the money you earnt from stolen code to enjoy things like this. -

Free advice from your local security expert
WHAT DID YOU DOWNLOAD ON THE INTERNET LAST YEAR because it has ALL BEEN RECORDED.
"TWO PICTURES MEANS GUILTY"
You had a safe, comfortable middle-class life? No, you thought you had, but you didn't. You are a CRIMINAL, you are GUILTY and you can be EXECUTED.
You are just another statistic criminal.
Do you want YOU and your PARTNER and KIDS to be DRAGGED from your home and SHOT IN THE STREET?
Is your anus insured for AIDS RAPE?
Does your life insurance cover FORCED PRISON SEX and AIDS DEATH ? Check the policy - maybe not. Does "your" life-insurance carry a clause in the contract about perverts, convicts and enemies of society JUST LIKE YOU? Why should they insure "PERVERT REJECTS" like you?
Society hates you.
What are your family going to do when you are jailed for 50 years with no parole? Do you reckon your spouse will hang around for 1 year let alone 50 years before they get lonely and find another partner to love them?
You can be JAILED and RAPED.
A great big muscle-bound GAY RAPIST will tie you to the PRISON BARS and RAPE YOUR ASS with his AIDS AND WART-INFESTED PENIS .
You will be forced to SUCK AIDS INFECTED DICKS . Do you want that?
SOCIETY SUCKS and you had better get used to it because this is what you can expect when YOUR COMPUTER is EXAMINED FOR EVIDENCE by the "government".
You will soon learn how "LAWFUL" AND "CORRECT" your government is when you are being raped and the prison guards are looking the other way - or WATCHING or JOINING IN.
DO YOU WANT TO BE RAPED? WELL, DO YOU?
Your "government" wants you to be RAPED IN THE ASS and you had better wise up before they get YOUR ass, because they can recover what you downloaded LAST YEAR and use it to kidnap you and rape you.
STOP yourself and your family and kids being kidnapped and raped by criminals.

ACHTUNG!!
I am a white girl who has a black nigger maid.
Just recently she confessed to me that she always fantasizes about worshipping my ass and pussy etc.
She told me with her own mouth that she thinks that all coon bitches like herself have no other purpose but to bow down and lick my superior White Royal Asshole.
Well from that day I made her my nigger toilet paper slave.
She told me no matter how rich or poor a black woman is- it is EVERY SINGLE black girls dreams and fantasies to worship and obey a White Maiden and obey all of her commands and wishes.
Has anyone ever heard of this?

My experiance with Theora
I just got my Quad 3.6Ghz Xeon box with Gentoo Linux 2004 on it. I used its power to encode some of my movie files that I had recorded with my HDDV cam. using Theora 3.
All I can say is WOW! the qualitat is excellent! I have a 1920x10180 film encoded at just 512Kbits and the quality beats a 5Mbit MPEG-4 encoded camera.
Don't believe me? Then download mplayer, then check the movies for yourself. -
