Grandparent is Twitter
You must be new here. The post you replied to is none other than Twitter. Apparently he is now posting anonymously since all of his accounts are now in the shitter. Twitter is well beyond being a simple open source advocate, he is a fanboy and a lapdog of Richard Stallman. His paranoia has him thinking that everyone that doesn't agree with him are either an astroturfer or a shill. The real identity of Twitter has been revealed to be William Hill.

Think again.
You had better go read your UP Libel handbook and understand it before you act like no harm can be done on the internet. What this idiot did is pure libel and it has caused its victim ireperable harm. Don't do that at home.
Public figures, people who manipulate the public for their own good, are fair game to talk about but even then you have to tell the truth.
Private individuals are almost never fair game, unless they do something that is of obvious public interest and even then you had better tell the truth. Now if you make up a page that leads people to believe that a private person you don't like is something they are not you are in deep shit if that person is somehow harmed. People look down on malice and they will reward a victim that's someone like themselves.
Now what harm can a Facebook page do? Ask someone who's looking for a job, or trying to do business. Reputation harm has direct monetary cost. Even a hint of controversy can cost a person their job and livelyhood, depending on the job. The perpetrator, in this case, is lucky to have gotten off with $44,000 in payments. Ask Ralph Nader about overzealous investigation if you are still unclear about this.
On that note, I'm sure BRLUG member Will Hill would love to know who set up the willyhill Slashdot user who's posted all sorts of outrageous bullshit under his name while pointing to his homepage. Whoever set that up is a particularly obnoxious troll. They have maliciously misrepresented an innocent private person.

hi twitter
it's a good thing we know who you are, and not just some random yahoo insulting people behind the anonymity of the internet and pretending some company is out to get you because you've failed at life

Re:They outsourced it.
Hi Twitter (and Twitter-in-drag).
-
Re:Vista RC1 build 5600You might want to know who the internet "tough guy" insulting you is: http://www.hillnotes.net/.
"Erris" is a sockpuppet account. He's better known as twitter.
-
Re:Yeah, yeah, easy to get around that nit pick.
twitter knows a lot about class reunions. After all, he married the prom queen.

Re:Got to know the Business
Yes, I've worked for a fortune 100 company
You did? Which one? I can't find it in your resume. You're not talking about Joe Bob's Outrageous Steak Emporium, are you? -
Re:Like that legacy talk.
Both run Debian.
What in christ does that have to do with anything?
By the way twitter, your website is terrible. Making people download 4 50kb images on your wife's splash page? Are you completely unable to compress your graphics in any way or just insane? I count well over 200kb worth of photos on your homepage alone, including one 100kb image. ARE YOU FUCKING NUTS? -

Re:Rape her??
http://www.hillnotes.net/ is his website, found through either an old Slashdot comment or a mailing list post on a local LUG of his, I forget which. It seems to check out; he talks often about his wife and four year old and BAM there they are; not to mention he slates Cox Cable for being against sharing (i.e limiting port 80), which sounds enough like him.
:)
I just love it when he calls me stalker, really. All this info is publicly available, and he uploaded that pic himself. If I was calling him at his house or workplace or whatever, he might have a point, but I wouldn't take it that far (I mean, it's just Slashdot, I don't HATE the guy, I just think he's a prick and he makes me laugh my ass off.) -
Re:Rape her??
Do you have a wife?
I'm so glad you asked. -
Re:Have some compasion.
Pwned. Utterly, and hard.
Oh yeah, Twitter's wife needs a mention. -
Re:KDE snubbed too.
Maybe if you skinned your wife so she didn't look so fugly, you wouldn't be so bitter.
-
Re:That would exceed expectations.
Rockbox, one day, might be able to Purge your Zune.
Looking at your wife makes my stomach purge itself. -
Re:Some links
You forgot the best link of all...twitter's wife. She looks like she crashed into the ugly tree. Twitter must be desperate, altho he probably put off all those other girls with his constant bollocks about not opening up their pussies and condom$ being evil.

Re:Sinking Ship Big Deal.
Look, six years might be a long time for Vista, but look at the flipside; if it had been released in 2003, people would have complained about it being rushed. At least they're making an effort to make sure something's going to look right before the world before making a commitment to it, unlike you and your wife.

Re:Don't credit M$ for the work of others.
If you think that's funny, check his website.

Re:Why "securing" your wireless is stupid.
Because you can't secure Windoze
You can. My Windows is running fine.
btw, did you make your wife wear a paper bag when you were conceiving that incubus of yours? Would make sense. -
Re:Ugh, you appologist don't help anyone.
At least his wife doesn't look like a dude in a wig.
Oh wait... -
Re:Ugh, you appologist don't help anyone. To the OP: The internet "tough guy" telling you to "go fuck yourself" is William Hill, aka 'twitter'.
Here is a link to the relevant information. I'm posting this so that the next time Willy Hill here decides it's time to tell someone to "fuck themselves" he'll think about it a bit more. There is nothing worse than an internet tough guy hiding behind a lame user name. Who can't spell, either.

Re:both sides of the desk - straight from the botthave never done so much as worked for a large company, much less done IT for them or any other company
Well, that might be true (actually it's not, but whatever) - however the fact remains that every single time you've shared your supposedly expert opinion on topics that involve IT/enterprise you have been lying through your teeth. Every time you've claimed that "sharing is good" and offered yourself as an example, you've been lying through your teeth, because you've obviously never written a line of meaningful production code in your life. You are not, or have ever been in a position to influence anything related to IT, anywhere (well, except maybe for Joe Bob's Outrageous Steak Emporium).
Do your pals on the BRLUG know your Slashdot alias? I bet they would love to read your toxic rants and discuss them on the mailing list.
Every time you do your "ZOMFG M$ IS TEH SUX" routine and even remotely begin to claim that your "experience" in IT or software development bears out your opinion, someone will post a link to your resume for everyone to chuckle at. And don't bother removing it, it's already cached and posted elsewhere for posterity.
-
Re:both sides of the desk - straight from the bott
Well, I guess your resume clearly validates your opinions about the industry.
-
Re:Ugh, that's annoying.
I love your resume. Clearly when you talk about how "M$" sucks at the enterprise level, that's experience talking right there.
-
Re:Ugh, that's annoying.
Sorry, AC, I'd rather not tell you who Twitter is.
That's OK, we know who you are. The other AC was probably just trying to figure out how you can make grandiose statements about "sharing source" when you really don't do that at all.
