Is there evidence he has deep knowledge about technology? Is there evidence he has deep knowledge about programming, for example?

You can look at his code and judge for yourself. He aced the SAT so it's reasonable to assume he could acquire deep knowledge about programming, whether he did or not. Reports are that he was technical at Microsoft. Other reports suggest he mentored other programmers.

All in all, there's plenty of evidence that Bill Gates understands programming as well as many working programmers.

Why does any sort of physical contact have to be part of the equation? Wireless charging has been a thing for several years at this point.

There have been technologies which charge bluetooth devices wirelessly from several feet away demonstrated at CES in 2015.

There are even people working on AA batteries which charge wirelessly.

Even Apple is on the wireless charging bandwagon, including their AirPods which charge wirelessly.

Since TrueCrypt is no longer actively maintained, the bugs won't be fixed directly in the program's code. However, they have been fixed in VeraCrypt, an open-source program based on the TrueCrypt code that aims to continue and improve the original project.
VeraCrypt 1.15 that was released Saturday, contains patches for the two vulnerabilities, identified as CVE-2015-7358 and CVE-2015-7359, as well as for other bugs. The program's developer only flagged the CVE-2015-7358 flaw as critical and said that it can be exploited by "abusing drive letter handling."

No, there is no pause in Win7. This was added to Win10, and yes, it's a great feature.

If you have time (I know, who does?) then read that entire thread on the explorer refresh bug. The summary is that Microsoft has released numerous patches for this problem, and many users report that while each patch may initially work, the problem eventually returns. Some have concluded that the bug is deep and poorly defined, and so there is probably no hope of an actual genuine fix to the problem, that link (for example) is to a forum thread exploring the possibility of spitting F5 key presses at explorer windows to force them to continually refresh. Read this to truly appreciate how much of a train wreck the problem actually is.
