Re:today's Zippy the Pinhead about donuts...
The last time I ate 17.3 glazed "Hots", I was escorted from the building for planting myself at the end of the donut conveyor and opening my mouth extra-wide.

Re:The Pilgrims should have served steak
Krispy Kremes are just sugar and lard
Patently untrue. They aren't very healthy, but they don't have lard. -
Re:All donuts are defective
all donuts have a hole in the middle
Not true -
Re:Nothing to see here
woOt go "running out of oil" hype! I was already stoked when I learned that biodeisel fumes smelled like freshly cooked doughnuts

"I didn't buy I mac because I wanted a Ford Torus..."
But for those times when you do want a torus, may I recommend these? -
Re:Two things...I've read the patent on it, it's really quite interesting. What they've noted is that either endian-ness will have delays paid at either the high or low order, depending on which system you are using and which order you are trying to access.
As a result of this research, they charged their top engineers to come up with a way to negate those delays. The general conclusion among the engineers was that the endian epidemic facing the computing community is much akin to a fat kid sitting on a see-saw. One end is going to be top heavy. So they devised a scheme in which the "endian-ness" is spread out evenly through-out the data.
This way *both* endians are succumbing to the same conversion, thus none pays a "tax" over the other. In this manner the read performance is increased 16 fold; while concurrently the write performance is increased four fold as a direct result of the physical media not having to dump more cream filling at either the "big" or "small" end. Early estimates are placed at $3.2bn annual market wide savings on filling refills.
It's really quite amazing.
For more information, look up the patent referred to. =)
In other news, the entire filling industry has just filed for chapter 11. News at 6.

Re:What I am surprised by NOT seeing yetBack in my college days(pre-1991) I listened to a think tank guy talk about McD's ability to get the meat from the freezer to the grill with robotics.
Back in high school I remember the BK broiler conveyor belt carrying hamburger across the flames.
I think by now, they can get it wrapped in a bun. Extra pickle, no problem.
This same think tank guy said they had computer replacements for the cashier, but people paid more money to talk to a real person, than order themselves.
I think a robotic McGriller is ready, but is the world ready for the robotic McGriller. What would all those high school kids do for work? What about everyone else?
I guess they have a bun manufacturing facility in the midwest that puts Krispy Kreme to shame.(insert pun or off color humor here.)

I think HeelToe should have said that he was a contract worker for Krispy Kreme.

No! No! They're not the buyers!
In other news, doughnut mogul Krispy Kreme (NYSE: KKD) has placed a bid to purchase high-end computing giant Sun Microsystems (NASDAQ: SUNW) in order to secure a first-in-line place for the much anticipated ``blade'' form-factor servers with UltraSPARC IV CPUs to control production, shipping, and doughnut-glazing processes. Officials at Sun Microsystems could not be reached for comment, but a guy hauling garbage out of the rear door of building 7 of the San Diego campus was quoted as saying ``I really like them doughnuts. If they buy us, maybe we'll all get doughnuts for free at lunch. That'd rule.''.
Look out Dell and IBM, when you've got a million doughnut and coffee addicts for your clients, switching them to Unix and Java can't be far behind.

More Important the the Internet Access
More importantly, there is a Krispy Kreme right down the street!
Mmmmmm, Krispy Kreme... Actually, I think this would be a bad thing. Right now it's nice to stop at Krispy Kreme every few months when I drive through Issaquah, but if I lived next door, I'm afraid I would find myself morbidly obese and unable to leave the house. Of course, with sooper-l33t interweb access, I guess I wouldn't need to leave the house. Hooray!

Re:People Laid off from my company
Sounds a little like "I'll give you this nice, shiny doughnut if you sell me your soul."
As long as it's a Krispy Kreme...where do I sign? -
Buy Krispy Kreme instead
Wish I had a fistful of Krispy Kreme instead of my worthless tech stocks. Ask yourself which people are going to be using more of, doughnuts or Mandrake, and invest accordingly.
